The Chest leads initiatives and supports nonprofits that make our communities stronger and benefit people in need in eastern Bergen County in New Jersey. Each

year, The Chest raises funds and allocates them to agencies demonstrating the capacity to provide services to local citizens. The organization also provides coordinating and planning services in its communities, serving as a bridge between agencies and organizations and investing in the stability and quality of the service network. Friends and supporters fulfill The Chest's mission started by its founders. They carry on the legacy to fill a chest with individuals and businesses' generous contributions and to empty its contents by awarding grant funds to support worthy projects led by area nonprofits. Funds raised support local nonprofit organizations’ programs that provide social, cultural, recreational, and educational services to community residents. A thorough process of screening, research, and monitoring by The Chest’s Board of Managers ensures dollars raised go to the most worthy programs with significant need. Community leaders dedicated to improving the lives of neighbors in need comprise the Board of Managers. This past Monday, The Community Chest joined the Rotary Club of Englewood for their Saori Tapestry: Unity & Peace Project Exhibit.

This opening reception, held at the Bergen Performing Arts Center, celebrated 100 years of the Rotary Club with a 100+ foot tapestry.

This tapestry not only celebrated community service but the beautiful harmony of 21 local nonprofit organizations working alongside community leaders, citizens, and students to create a symbol of peace, unity, and togetherness.

We are honored to have been recognized at this lovely event and we are determined to continue contributing to our community.

Together, we are stronger. ♥️
