Over the past three days, we’ve had the honor of working alongside the U.S. Forest Service, supporting their mission with our dedicated, all-volunteer crews on the Appalachia Wildfire.

It’s a privilege to work with such a professional organization, and we’re incredibly proud of the commitment, grit, and teamwork our members continue to demonstrate. This opportunity reflects the strength of our department and the community that stands behind us.

🚫🔥 No Burn Permits Update 🔥🚫

Due to current conditions, NO burn permits will be issued today or tomorrow. We know it’s tempting, but Mother Nature isn’t in the mood to cooperate—and neither are we.

Let’s keep our community safe and avoid any unnecessary calls (and paperwork 😅).

And remember… if you see someone thinking about lighting up anyway… well… snitches get stitches—but in our case, they just get a friendly visit from your local fire crew 😉🚒

Stay safe, stay smart, and we’ll keep you posted!

Our annual fundraising mail-out has officially begun! 📬

Each year, the incredible support from our community makes it possible for us to continue serving and protecting those who live, work, and travel through our area. We are truly grateful for the generosity, encouragement, and trust you show us year after year.

If you receive one of our letters in the mail, please know that every donation—big or small—goes directly toward helping us maintain equipment, training, and resources that allow us to better serve our community.

Thank you for always standing behind us. Your support means more than words can express. 🚒❤️

With possible severe weather moving into our area tonight, please be weather aware. Everyone should have multiple ways to get weather alerts. Be sure all devices are fully charged. Be safe.

Santa got a little behind last Christmas Eve! To try to help him out, the Santa Run will start at 3:00 this Christmas Eve. Be on the lookout for Santa! We have heard Mrs. Claus will be joining him!!

🎅 Help Needed for Our Santa Run! 🎁

Hi everyone,
As we prepare for this year’s Santa Run, we’ve discovered that our toy supplies are much lower than usual. Each year, your generosity helps us bring joy to local children who may otherwise go without — and we’re hoping our amazing community can come together once again.
If you’re able, we would be incredibly grateful for new, unwrapped toy donations for children of all ages. Every single toy makes a difference and helps us spread Christmas cheer to families who need it most. ❤️

📍 Drop-Off Location: Englewood Fire Department or Englewood City Hall

Thank you so much for supporting our Santa Run and helping us make this Christmas magical for every child! 🎄✨

Please share this post to help us reach more people! 🙏

🔥 Brush Burning Safety Reminder 🔥
Planning to burn brush this weekend? Stay safe and protect your property, neighbors, and local wildlife by following these important safety tips:
✅ Get your burn permit from burnsafetn.org
✅ Never leave a fire unattended – Always have someone watching the fire, and keep it small and manageable.
✅ Clear a safe zone – Remove flammable materials at least 10 feet around your burn area.
✅ Have water & tools ready – Keep a hose, buckets of water, and a shovel nearby in case the fire starts to spread.
✅ Only burn natural materials – Brush, branches, and untreated wood are okay. NEVER burn garbage, plastics, or construction debris.
✅ Watch the weather – Avoid burning on windy days. Embers can travel and ignite new fires.
🔥 When you're done, douse the fire thoroughly with water, stir the ashes, and repeat until it’s cool to the touch.
Let’s all do our part to prevent wildfires and stay safe. If in doubt, don’t burn it out! 💧🌲🔥

School is back in session today! 🚸
Please drive carefully: leave a little early, stay alert, and watch out for children. If you’ve forgotten the school zone speed limits, don’t worry—you might get a quick reminder from the boys in blue. Let’s keep everyone safe!!!

We ask everyone in our community to please use caution today and this weekend. A tremendous friend to our department and founding elder of the community passed this week. The amount of buggies will greatly increase as they pay their respects to an honorable man. Please drive carefully in the area and remember that the Mennonite community wishes to not have their pictures taken.
