This is great! A fall can be catastrophic for our senior friends.

The Earl Heck Community Center will be hosting another Stepping On balance workshop at our facility this fall. This free seven-week workshop will teach you simple ways to improve your balance and reduce fall risks at home and in daily life. Research has shown that this program has been proven to reduce falls by 30%. Classes will be held at the Earl Heck Center on Tuesdays from 3:00-5:00 PM beginning on October 6th. Here's an activity anyone can create at home! Clear out your cluttered tupperware cabinet (because we all have one) and ask your loved one to match up each container with its lid. Make sure ahead of time that each container really does have a lid to ensure this is a failure free activity. It's also important to know what each individual can handle. The two clients pictured were not overwhelmed by having everything in front of them at once, but many individuals with dementia may find this overwhelming. This activity is so easily customizable for your loved one!

Krissy and Seth (with Senior Music Connection) came yesterday to provide a wonderful Hymn Sing for our clients. While our clients love a wide range of music, hymns are ALWAYS a top favorite that resonates with just about everyone. As you can see, our buddy Brian was a big fan of "This Little Light of Mine"!

Just two besties enjoying a sweet treat 🥰

We visited Covered Wagon to try their ice cream and it did not disappoint! They make it themselves and you can buy a serving to eat there or take home a pint. Our group chose between cookies and cream, strawberry, or moose tracks and everyone loved their selections 😋 Thanks, Covered Wagon!
