The newest member of the Air Methods of Kentucky family has officially opened as Kentucky 15, now flying above Russell County. KY 15 will work with the program's other six aircraft to provide lifesaving care throughout southcentral Kentucky. Flying an EC130 that recently flew out of neighboring Somerset, the program is staffed by Air Methods' highly-trained pilots, clinicians, and mechanics. Welcome to the family, Air Methods KY Russell Springs!

A legacy of lifesaving care. Life Saver marked 45 years of service to Alabama with a celebration that brought together the people who make the mission possible—crew members past and present, healthcare partners, patients, and families whose lives have been forever changed.

Dr. Robert Carraway, who founded Life Saver as Alabama's first air medical program, shared how it all began. "There was no manual. We had to figure it out. I went out and hired the best pilots and clinicians and trained them to do lifesaving procedures in the grass and the dirt of rural Alabama."

One of those lives saved belongs to Collin Long, who suffered life-threatening injuries and received critical care during his Life Saver transport. "I am forever grateful for Life Saver," said Long, who now aspires to attend medical school after completing his bachelor’s degree. "I think God has kept me here to save other people."

From Sylacauga to Cusseta to Evergreen, Life Saver continues to deliver critical care across Alabama, carrying forward a mission that started more than four decades ago and will for decades to come.

Congratulations to our LifeNet of New York 7-12 team! Last month, Flight Paramedic & Clinical Base Lead Luke Gasowski and Flight Nurse Kerry Nicholls were honored by the University of Rochester Medicine Strong Memorial Hospital during National EMS Week for their clinical excellence in patient care. Luke and Kerry, alongside Wayne County EMS, were recognized for their professionalism and commitment to delivering the highest level of care when it matters most. We're grateful for their dedication and the vital partnerships that make our mission possible every day.

After surviving the Midwest winter, LifeNet 1-4 - Sioux City officially celebrated its arrival in Sioux City with a ribbon cutting event. Members of the Sioux City Chamber of Commerce were on hand for the event as members of the flight crew officially cut the ribbon. LifeNet of the Heartland is proud to include the entire Siouxland region as part of its coverage area and has already completed more than 90 patient transports since opening in November 2025.

It’s World Blood Donor Day! Every pint donated helps keep our aircraft stocked and ready to respond. Whether it's a trauma, a cardiac emergency, or a critical transport, having blood on board allows our flight teams to provide ICU-level care in the air, positively increasing patient outcomes. If you've ever donated blood, you've played a vital role in saving lives alongside our crews. Thank you for answering the call.

Last month, Arch Air Medical Litchfield Base celebrated 25 years with a BBQ for local partners. As part of the celebration, the base honored three teammates who played an instrumental role in the success of the base. Flight paramedics Steven Piper and Darren Davis were presented with awards, while pilot Doug Rhodes was also recognized but unable to attend as he was the on-duty pilot for that night's shift! Congratulations to everyone who has played a part in the success of ARCH 2, and thank you to the Litchfield community for your continued support!

Our SkyLife team participated in Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center's annual mock drill last month, reinforcing the critical partnerships between air medical services and hospital teams. Through realistic scenarios and hands-on training, we build the muscle memory and teamwork needed to provide seamless, lifesaving care when it matters most.
