A piece of our fire departments history resides in Tennessee at Dollywood! With the recent passing of Dolly Parton, crews came across a post in Randolph Township History Society displaying an old fire engine that used to run out of Fire Station #3 located at 7918 N. Main St and the building still stands in the same location. This truck is a 1941 Seagraves and operated out of Station 3 for 25 years!

This morning Clayton Fire crews were dispatched to a report of a structure fire. While en-route to the fire, dispatch informed crews of an occupant possibly trapped inside the fire apartment. Thankfully the resident was able to exit the structure uninjured prior to the fire developing.

“Close before you Doze”
This fire is a perfect example of why shutting bedroom doors before you sleep is extremely important. Throughout these photos you can tell how extreme and intense the fire conditions developed. The resident had her bedroom door closed and it was one of the only rooms in the house that was not affected by fire.

Crews were able to move quick and put a fast knock down on this fire. Crews train every shift on fast water application and moving with a purpose and their training really proved how important that is during this incident.

It is with profound sadness that our department shares the passing of Paula Creech. Paula served the citizen’s of Clayton from 1998 before her retirement as a Battalion Chief in 2018. Thank you for your service BC Creech, and may your soul forever rest in peace.
