Our Story
The non-profit Crawford County Indiana Veterans Memorial Association was formed by the Crawford County Historical & Genealogical Society with the local Veterans organizations of English VFW Post 6160, Marengo American Legion Post 84, Milltown American Legion Post 332, and Alton American Legion Post 133. The memorial was funded by donations only, not by county funds. The county furnished land for the site near the Crawford County Court House and Archives buidling. The Historical Society hosts a special military section with photos and the veterans information inside the the Societyโs headquarters building across from the VFW The formal dedication of the Memorial was held on Veterans Day, November 11, 2017. We believe this tribute is long overdue. We met our goal to erect the memorial in the fall of 2017, in time for Crawford County's 200th birthday in 2018 thanks to your many donations. You may send your donations for upkeep to CCIVA Treasuer Mary Edwards at 1090 E. Melton Rd., English, IN 47118. The association invites the public to their monthly meetings held on the 4th Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the English VFW post. Come join us!
