There is currently a recall on the Lontcs Busy Board sold previously by Amazon due to high levels of Lead being detected.

Lead poisoning is caused by swallowing or inhaling lead. Even small amounts can be harmful. Lead exposure can affect anyone, but young children are the most vulnerable. This is mainly due to the fact that small children are usually on the floor and putting items in their mouth. High levels of lead can impact learning, behavior, and development.

7 steps to protect against lead poisoning

1. Get your child tested for lead poisoning, even if they seem healthy.
A blood lead test is required for Medicaid programs between the ages of 9 months and 15 months with a follow-up blood lead test between the ages of 21 months and 27 months, or for any child up to age 7 that does not have a record of any prior blood lead testing.

2. Clean floors, window frames, window sills, and other surfaces weekly.

3. Make sure your child is not chewing on anything that may be covered with lead-based paint.

4. Don't try to remove lead-based paint yourself. Use a lead-safe certified contractor.

5. Don't bring lead dust into your home from work or a hobby.

6. Flush your home's pipes before drinking the water.

7. Offer foods high in iron, calcium, and vitamin C.
