The CHAMBER Community Tree Lighting is this Friday, November 21!

This is our seventh year for the local tree lighting. It has grown from a simple 6 foot tree, to the lighting of a 14 foot tree, with SLOW falling for making memories and taking sweet pictures!

The event has also grown including a Shop Local Pink Friday campaign and the addition of Christmas on Main!

Get your holiday started this Friday night in Kingfisher!

CHRISTMAS BUZZ: Experience a “Time Traveler’s Holiday” in the Humphrey Heritage Village for Christmas at the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center on Friday, December 5, from 6pm to 9pm! 507 S. 4th St.. For more information call 580-237-1907.

Guests can take a stroll back in time through the Humphrey Heritage Village. As guests wander, they’ll get to experience how Christmas may have been celebrated during different decades ranging from the 1890s to the 1940s and today! As always, Santa Claus will be making his annual visit along with so many more activities to enjoy!

Happy Statehood Day! 118 years ago today, President Theodore Roosevelt signed a proclamation declaring that Oklahoma was to join the Union as the 46th state. Off the second-floor balcony of The State Capital Publishing Building in Guthrie, a gun was fired as the announcement was made, “Oklahoma is now a state!”

Now, we’re working to restore this iconic piece of state history. Go to publishingmuseum.org to get involved.
