Deadline to register for the Cherokee Strip Celebration Parade is September 10th! The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19th downtown Enid led by the Slash-O-Longhorns sponsored by Cowboy First Bank!

New this year~ prizes will be awarded to the top three entries overall. First place $500, Second place $300, Third place $200.

DETAILS: Serving on a City board is an excellent way to get involved in your community and in local government.

Applications are being accepted for residents to serve on the below boards:

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) -Any interested resident of Enid

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday-Any interested resident of Enid

Commission Public Arts Commission of Enid (PACE)-Any interested resident of Enid

The Enid Chamber Ambassadors were pleased to officially welcome Cornerstone Caregiving - 1017 West Cherry - to the community with a ribbon cutting September 2nd. Cornerstone Caregiving offer serve in-home care services to Enid and the surrounding area providing personalized care plans tailored to to individual daily activities or various care needs.

The Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Communications & Member Experience Coordinator to help us connect, engage and tell the stories of Enid’s business community.

This new position will play an important role in Chamber communications, events and member engagement - from social media and newsletters to ribbon cuttings, Chamber programs and some of our community’s favorite annual events.

We’re looking for someone who is creative, organized, enjoys working with people and is excited about helping local businesses and our community thrive.

We’re excited to share an update to our Chamber team!

Effective September 1, Lori Coonrod will take on the role of Director of Operations for the Enid Chamber. In this focused role, Lori will oversee the financial, administrative and operational functions that help keep our organization running effectively and support the work we do for our members.

Lori brings valuable experience and institutional knowledge to the Chamber, and we’re grateful to have her continuing to serve our members in this role.

And for those wondering - Lori isn’t going anywhere! She will continue supporting our members as we grow our team and will remain the lead for this year’s Cherokee Strip Celebration Parade. Members can continue reaching out to Lori for their Chamber needs throughout this transition.

Congratulations again to Angel Almaraz, the Greater Enid Chamber's 2026 Volunteer of the Year!

In just four years, Angel has become one of Enid's most recognizable volunteers - not because he seeks the spotlight, but because he consistently shows up. Whether it's a community event, fundraiser, board meeting, or service project, he's there to lend a hand and bring people together.

What makes Angel's story especially meaningful is that he chose Enid as his home and immediately chose to invest in it. Through his leadership with the Garfield County Hispanic Coalition, he has helped build connections across cultures and create opportunities for greater community engagement. His service with United Way of Northwest Oklahoma and as a graduate of Leadership Greater Enid Class ###V reflects his commitment to strengthening Enid through collaboration, volunteerism, and servant leadership.

Recently, Angel joined the team at Sidwell Distribution as Customer Relations & Distribution Lead, where he continues building relationships that strengthen both our business community and Northwest Oklahoma. He was also recognized at the recent Enid Young Professionals luncheon as the 2026 Cultural Collaborator.

Thank you, Angel, for the example you set and for helping make Enid a stronger, more connected community. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

The Enid Chamber Ambassadors celebrated new ownership, management, and a re-trained team at Charley’s Cheesesteaks on Friday, August 28, with a ribbon cutting at their location inside Walmart at 5505 W. Garriott.

A large crowd came out to celebrate and enjoy free food while getting a chance to see the refreshed restaurant and experience the great service from the newly trained team. It was a fun celebration and a great opportunity to celebrate the new ownership and the exciting changes at Charley’s Cheesesteaks.

Congratulations to the entire Charley’s Cheesesteaks team, and we wish you continued success!
