During a nighttime mission to transport an officer for medical care, the aircraft came under attack. Williams was injured by shrapnel but did not realize he had been wounded until the helicopter landed.

He reflects on the close call, the Purple Heart he later received, and the risks service members faced while carrying out their missions.

After being wounded while rushing to aid fellow service members during an ambush, Tabor later volunteered for Med Evac duty. He reflects on flying into dangerous conditions to evacuate wounded personnel and the commitment of the crews who continued their missions under fire.

His story honors the courage, compassion, and selfless service of those who cared for others in combat.

REVISED Construction Date for Concrete Sidewalk Repairs at Independence and Maple

WHERE: West Maple Avenue and North Independence Avenue

WHY: Sidewalk projects improvements

DETAILS: City of Enid Engineering Department announced the reconstruction of a sidewalk at the intersection of West Maple Avenue and North Independence Avenue. The sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians to allow contractors to complete construction. As always, this closure will be contingent on the weather.

Motorists are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and to drive with extreme caution in this area during the construction.

DETAILS: There will be intermittent lane closure in the following areas, allowing crews to repair the waterline:
• Southbound lane on South Van Buren Street from Sequoyah Drive to Wynona Avenue
• West Wabash Avenue between South Jackson Street and Wynona Avenue

As always, this closure will be contingent on the weather.

Tomorrow, we will welcome home our brother and friend #963 Sgt. Lee Frisendahl.

An es**rt of Enid Police Department Honor Guard, along with members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Garfield County Sheriff's Office, Hunter Fire Department, Kremlin Fire Department and Mercy Ambulance Service will travel along Garriott from Oklahoma City, enroute to Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Please join us at the Enid Police Department and along Garriott to honor him and his homecoming.

We expect the procession to pass the station about 11:15 a.m.
