1245 LOCAL UPDATE:

THE FRONT IS ON THE WAY, THOUGH JUST CREEPING SOUTHEAST RIGHT NOW. SEE PIC ATTACHED

THE SECONDARY LINE COULD BE A GRAVITY WAVE OR ANOTHER BOUNDARY OF COOLER AIR BEHIND THE INITIAL LINE. I HAVE ACTUALLY ASK THE NWS ABOUT THAT BECAUSE BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I DONT KNOW EVERYTHING. :) THERE ARE A FEW OTHER THINGS THIS COULD DEPICT TOO.

WINDS WILL DIE DOWN A LITTLE AFTER FRONTAL PASSAGE AND THEN RAMP RIGHT BACK UP FROM THE NORTH SO DON'T HANG UP YOUR ANCHORS YET.

OVERALL, WE MAY GET LUCKY AND NOT SEE ANY STORMS HERE TODAY BUT WILL NOT TOTALLY COMMIT TO THAT YET EITHER.

WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
HAVE A GOOD AFTERNOON.

MARGINAL/SLIGHT RISKS FOR SEVERE WEATHER LATER TODAY. Timing is from 4 to midnight. If storms occur here, quarter to golf ball size hail and winds to 70 mph are possible. The tornado threat is very low.

A COLD FRONT will be the focus point for severe weather this afternoon as it slowly moves through the area. Timing will be a key element on where initial storms could occur along and ahead of the front. The higher end storms should be south and southeast of our area as the front pushes through.

We aren’t included in the HEAT ADVISORY today, but it will return over the weekend along with additional severe weather chances.

OVERALL, we’ll be ok today, so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- Sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Windy with highs in the mid-90s. Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, becoming northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight- A slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Less humid with lows in the upper 60s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the evening. Chance of rain 20 percent

7:45 PM INFO:

IT APPEARS WE HAVE BIT THE BULLET FOR STORMS TONIGHT, SO FAR. THERE IS STILL A LESS THAN 20% CHANCE SO WE WILL WAIT AND SEE WHAT, IF ANYTHING, DEVELOPS.

TOMORROW MAY BE A DIFFERENT STORY SINCE WE'LL BE IN A HIGHER RISK CATEGORY. WE'LL ALSO HAVE A FRONT MOVING IN ALONG WITH A STORM SYSTEM OUT WEST HEADING OUR WAY. THIS SAID, SLEEP WELL TONIGHT AND WE'LL SEE WHAT MOTHER NATURE HAS TO THROW AT US TOMORROW.

HAVE A GOOD EVENING.

MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER AND A SMALL AREA FOR A SLIGHT RISK IN THE NE CORNER OF THE COUNTY FOR LATER TODAY. Timing is from 3 to midnight. Golf Ball size hail and winds to 70 mph are possible if storms occur. The tornado threat is very low.

With a trough out west and a cold front pushing south, the threat for severe weather will continue. This said, just stay weather aware and we’ll deal with what nature throws at us.

OVERALL, we’ll be ok today, so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- Sunny. A chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Breezy with highs in the upper 90s. South winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent. Heat index values up to 106.

750PM ADVISORY:

AS MOST ARE AWARE, THERE ARE STORMS IN EASTERN NEW MEXICO AND THROUGH THE TEXAS PANHANDLE IN PROGRESS AT THIS TIME. THESE STORMS ARE MOVING GENERALLY NE INTO THE OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE INTO KANSAS AND SHOULDN'T AFFECT US.

AS THAT LINE MOVES EAST, THERE IS AN OUTSIDE CHANCE THERE COULD BE SOME THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY HERE IN NORTHERN OKLAHOMA EARLY TOMORROW MORNING IF THEY HAVEN'T DISSIPATED BY THEN. IF THERE IS, THEY SHOULDNT BE SEVERE. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW.

DONT LOSE ANY SLEEP BUT JUST BE AWARE OF SOME NOISE IN THE SKY MIGHT OCCUR EARLY IN THE MORNING.

HAVE A GREAT EVENING.

0330L-TUESDAY, JUNE 9, 2026

GENERAL T-STORM RISK LATER TODAY. Most storm activity should remain out west and into Kansas. There are a few outflow boundaries out there that could become a focal point for storms later today, so we’ll see where the boundaries end up and move from there. If storms do form in our area, downdraft winds and hail would be our main threats.

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1PM UNTIL 7PM THIS EVENING. Hydrate properly and make sure to check on the animals out there.
I’ll update this outlook later today, if necessary, as conditions change.

OVERALL, we’ll be ok today, so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- Sunny, breezy with highs in the mid-90s. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Heat index values up to 105.

Tonight- Mostly clear and breezy. Lows in the mid-70s. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

0315L MONDAY, JUNE 8, 2026

MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER LATER TODAY. TIMING: 4PM TO MIDNIGHT. If storms occur, damaging winds and hail will be our main threats. The tornado risk is very low.

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1PM UNTIL 7PM THIS EVENING. Heat indices could reach 106. Be sure you hydrate properly, water your pets, and pay attention to how you feel if working outdoors.

After all the rain we’ve had and abundant sunshine today, the humidity will be a bit thick so be prepared for the muggy conditions and heat. We will deal with this for several days so prepare accordingly.

As for storms, the main brunt of severe weather should remain mostly in Kansas but with a weak cold front pushing our way along with the diurnal heating here in the area, convection could easily occur, so I’ll keep that eye out and we’ll see where this mess ends up. If storms do, in fact occur, they will weaken as diurnal effects lesson after sundown.

OVERALL, we’ll be ok today, so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Monday- Sunny with highs in the mid-90s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Heat index values up to 106 in the afternoon.

Monday Night- Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then mostly clear after midnight. Humid with lows in the mid-70s. South winds 15 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph in the evening. Chance of rain 20 percent. Heat index values up to 106 early in the evening.

0315L-SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2026

GENERAL THUNDERSTORM RISK again today but mostly this morning. The center of the upper low that moved out of Mexico yesterday has pushed into our area and will continue moving NE taking the flood watch with it as the day progresses. We do have additional rain chances this morning but that SHOULD end for us sometime this afternoon. Temps will increase and we MIGHT see triple digits this up-and-coming week. We’ll see what happens.

For today, showers down around I-40 are moving north. If they hold together, they would arrive over the next few hours or so. Heavy rain chances will occur in the SE and Eastern part of the state so if you are traveling, use extreme caution as they received quite a bit of rain yesterday.

OVERALL, we’ll be ok today, so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Sunday- Partly sunny with a slight chance of thunderstorms. A chance of showers, mainly in the morning. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Humid with highs in the mid-80s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Sunday Night- Partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Finally, if you were keeping track of rain totals over the weekend, let me know what those were. It is appreciated.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!

740PM OUTLOOK:

THERE IS A CHANCE FOR SOME THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY OVERNIGHT. AS STATED QUITE A BIT THIS WEEK, WE AREN'T EXPECTING ANY SEVERE WEATHER UNLESS WE HAVE COLLAPSING STORMS THAT PRODUCE DOWNDRAFT WINDS. THERE MAY BE SOME HAIL WITH ANY STRONG CELLS SO JUST KNOW THAT OVERALL, OVERNIGHT, WE'LL BE OK.

HAVE A GOOD EVENING AND STAY WEATHER AWARE.
