The risk of severe weather will increase tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon and evening with the highest risk across northern Oklahoma. Large hail, damaging wind gusts, and tornadoes are all potential hazards.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT - 6/23/2026

We'll be dealing with showers and thunderstorms off and on throughout the day across the area. Expect mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-80s and southeast winds around 5 to 10 mph.

The greatest potential for severe weather appears to be between 12 PM and 6 PM today. While storms may develop outside of that window, this is the time frame we'll be watching most closely.

Main hazards include:
🧊 Hail up to golf ball size
💨 Wind gusts up to 70 mph
🌪 A tornado threat that remains low, but not zero
🌧 Heavy rainfall with 1 to 2 inches possible in the stronger storms, which could lead to ponding of water on roadways and minor flooding in low-lying areas.

Showers and thunderstorms may continue into this evening, and there is the potential for another round of storms late tonight depending on how storms evolve during the day.

We'll continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.

Evening Weather Outlook From Garfield County Emergency Management - 6/22/2026

Good Monday afternoon!

Enjoy the cooler temperatures today. We'll see mostly sunny skies with highs staying in the lower 80s and a light northeast breeze around 10 mph.

Tonight, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this evening, with rain and storm chances increasing some after midnight. Overnight lows will drop into the mid-60s with east winds around 5 to 10 mph. Rain chances are 40%.

At this time, widespread severe weather is not expected, but don't be surprised if a few folks hear some thunder overnight. As always, we will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if needed.

1:45AM Update:

The main severe line is now exiting the SE portion of the county. Main threats for the remainder of the morning will be excessive rainfall. As you leave for your morning commute, be mindful of flooded roadways.
