GCS ROCKS

GCS ROCKS ***If you are here because you found a rock...welcome! Please post a photo of the rock you found, and tell us the location you found it in! (City and state

(City and state as well if not Alleghany County) Please rehide the rock in another location, or replace it with one of your own! So glad you've joined us! GCS Rocks! began with the sole purpose of spreading joy, kindness, and a sense of community through creativity and was inspired by the creative students at Glade Creek School. The idea is to decorate rocks with paint or markers and to hide them

in various locations to brighten someone's day. For longevity, rocks should be covered with a sealer. On the backs of your masterpieces, write in permanent pen or paint, "Take picture and post on Facebook in "GCS Rocks" group. Rehide." If you find a painted rock that you can't bear to part with, please keep it, but replace it with one of your own creations. Please feel free to take your rock to another town, state or country to hide and share. This is a kindness project, and kindness has no boundaries! Group Rules:
1. Do not put any man made materials (other than paint) on the rocks. This includes googly eyes, Pom Poms, stickers, beads, etc. If you find a rock like this, please remove the items before rehiding. This is litter, and we want to keep the integrity of our group.
2. Be sensitive to the environment and do not remove rocks from or hunt in protected habitats, and please follow all rules of the parks and trails you visit. *DO NOT TAKE NAKED ROCKS FROM LANDSCAPING OR BUSINESSES.
3. Don't hide in grass where lawn mowers roam or in other hazardous locations.
4. Keep all posts kind, and free of rants and drama, political opinions, foul language, and all pictures family-friendly. There is a zero tolerance policy about these posts. The posts will be deleted without notice.
5. Above all, use common sense and remember our mission. We want to spread happiness in our community, and in no way wish to be a nuisance, distraction, or hazard.
6. Please do your best not to hide in the operation parts of a store or restaurant. (Store shelves, etc). If you choose to leave a rock in doors, just beware it may get thrown away.
7. Not every rock will get a photo posted. Actually, most won't. This is ok. The point of a gift of happiness is to put a smile on someone's face, not to see it posted in return. It is a bonus when it is posted, not a requirement. It is best just to plan on the NOT being posted, so it's a fun surprise when it is. 😉
8. It's all about kindness! Be joyful and happy about what we are doing to make a difference! If kindness is spread...we are doing our job. :)
This is meant to be fun for all ages and abilities, so get creative, get outside and have fun!! PS...Thank you Glade Creek School Community!! GCS ROCKS!!!
