We had a beautiful day to wrap up our final Shaull Elementary Garden Club! We were very grateful to welcome beekeeper and Shaull Parent, Steve Dietch, who taught the students about native bees as well as honeybees. Students learned about the vital importance of bees in our community and enjoyed a delicious taste of honey.

The students worked also with CVHS student, Rachel, to use 3D Printed NFC enabled native plant tags. You can simply tap your phone to a tag and a pop-up will appear on your screen with a link to more information about our native plants!

A special thanks to the Pennsylvania Native Plant Society for sponsoring the garden this year.

We also celebrated the new permanent Shaull Elementary Seed Library! This permanent structure will hold seeds cultivated from our gardens as well as books about plants and gardening. We hope everyone in our community comes to check it out and take seeds and books home with them.

Next, the students planted an entire edible flower garden. Every plant in this garden will produce a bloom that is edible.

We are especially grateful for our volunteers - Gretchen and Leah Pugh, Austin Tichenor and Ranin Dairanieh 🌼

Congratulations to third grade teacher, Miss Albin, who got engaged today right here at school…and she said YES!

We are so happy for her and wish the happy couple a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Congratulations, Miss Albin! 💍❤️

Mrs. Clark’s 4th grade class put their engineering skills to the test today with an exciting Egg Drop challenge from the Shaull roof! 🥚Students carefully designed and built creative contraptions to protect their eggs from the big drop. There were plenty of cheers, suspense, and only a couple cracked eggs! Most importantly, there was lots of problem-solving, teamwork, and fun learning in action!

Today was a blast in 3rd grade as Mr. Willey launched water bottle rockets with students from Ms. B’s class during Explorations! 🚀 Students put their creativity and science skills to the test while learning about force, air pressure, and aerodynamics. Great job, Ms. B’s class, and thank you to Mr. Willey for making this learning so much fun!
