Based on the recent positive mosquito testing for West Nile Virus, Dauphin County Mosquito-Borne Disease Control Program staff will apply treatments the evening of Wednesday, 9/2 in the areas of Paxtonia and Colonial Rd. Due to any weather issues, a make-up spray will be conducted on Friday, 9/4.

Any residents that have any questions concerning the spray event should contact the county Program Coordinator at 717-921-8100 by 4:00pm Wednesday, 9/2.

No, the residues in the pool would be low and would also be diluted by the
water in the pool.
𝟑. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫?
The ULV v***r disperses readily and little movement of the material into open
windows with screens would be expected. However, individuals with upper
respiratory problems such as asthma may react to ULV applications and closing
windows and turning off air conditioners is recommended to protect these
individuals.
𝟒. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭?
Whenthe chemical is applied at the labeled rates there are wide margins of safety
for humans, dogs, cats and other mammals. Indoor pets may be
"let-out" immediately following the application. Outdoor pets
may be left outdoors.
𝟓. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝?

Got recycling? The Pennsylvania Township News wants to hear how your township handles recycling.

Whether you run curbside collection, a drop-off site, contract with a hauler, or partner with neighboring municipalities, and whether recycling is mandated in your township or offered voluntarily, we'd like to hear from you. We're also interested in townships that have changed, scaled back, or discontinued a program and what drove that decision.

The PSATS Regional Forums are back, and we kicked off the series yesterday in Erie! 🎉

Township officials and local leaders gathered for a full day of learning, networking, and discussion focused on the issues that matter most to Pennsylvania communities. From engaging workshops and expert-led presentations to valuable conversations with peers, attendees had the opportunity to gain practical insights, earn professional credits, and share ideas for strengthening their municipalities.
