Would you like to be part of the Wallowa County 4-H Horse Classics Team? Please let Cammie or Debi know by October 14th.. The first meeting will be October 14th at the food booth from 6-7 PM. Parents are encouraged to come!

Spring Horse Classics is an opportunity for Intermediate and Senior 4-H members (ages 12-19 by September 1, 2026) to compete in horse related contests. The 2026 Spring Horse Classics will be held, April 23-25, 2027.

We are currently looking for members that would like to represent Wallowa County on the Horse Bowl and Hippology teams. These teams commit to practicing regularly and they learn a TON about the horses and the horse project. Wallowa County does very well at these contests because of the time that the members dedicate to learning and practicing.

Did You Know?

The OSU Extension Office in Wallowa County has food preservation equipment available for community members to check out!

This dehydrator is just one of the many items we offer. We also have a water bath canner, blanching pot, apple peeler/corer/slicer, and a vacuum sealer available for loan.

If you're interested in borrowing an item, simply stop by the office or give us a call to reserve it (541) 426-3143. To ensure everyone has a chance to use the equipment, we ask that items be checked out for no more than one week at a time.

In addition, we've partnered with the city libraries in Enterprise, Joseph, and Wallowa to make select food preservation equipment available for public checkout through their library lending programs.

Whether you're preserving your garden harvest, making homemade applesauce, or trying food preservation for the first time, we're here to help make it easier!

Contact the Extension Office today to learn more or reserve an item.
