PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL EVERYONE!!

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for today.

The Oregon Department of Forestry has issued a Red Flag alert for our region for today. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low humidity, and hot temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Residents need to continue to be extremely cautious in preventing human-caused fires. Any fire starts will likely spread very rapidly.

We just finished final reporting on our 2017 grants. Onto the new project year. I just want to thank all of the landowners for in-kind and participation you make our jobs so much better. Our funding would not be possible without the amazing support this county provides.

We are starting to hear a lot of concerns about Burr Buttercup in yards and bare ground areas. For infestations located in grass/lawns, treat with a combination of broadleaf w**d-killers (2,4-D and Dicamba). For infestations in driveways, gravel pull-offs, and other bare-ground areas, kill off any actively growing plants with glyphosate and get long-term residual control with imazapyr. Products containing these chemicals and marketed towards homeowners are available in both Ace and Grain Growers. Although waxy yellow flowers bloom later see below.
