Really proud of the hard work Leigh Ann and her staff puts into maintaining the finances of our city.

The City of Enterprise, Ala. has received a clean audit for Fiscal Year 2025, reflecting continued excellence in financial management and transparency. The audit, presented during Tuesday night’s City Council meeting confirms that the city’s financial statements are accurate and fully compliant with federal and bond reporting requirements.

This year, the audit was completed by March 31st, marking a significant improvement over previous years. The process required coordination across multiple city entities, including the Enterprise Water Works Board, City Schools, Public Library, and Industrial Development Board, demonstrating strong teamwork and dedication.

“This audit is the result of consistent, detail-oriented work by our accounting and finance staff,” said Mayor William E. Cooper. “Their efforts may not always be highly visible, but they are critical to our city’s stability, transparency, and credibility. I am proud of this team and grateful for the work they do each day to keep Enterprise running smoothly.”

Key highlights from the FY 2025 audit include:
• Completion of the city’s financial statements by March 31st for the first time in several years, ahead of the June 30th deadline.
• The City’s General Fund held approximately 5.5 months of expenses on hand at September 30, 2025, exceeding best practice guidelines of 3 to 6 months.
• No findings related to the financial statement audit or the federal compliance audit.

Enterprise Chief Financial Officer LeeAnn Swartz praised the dedication and professionalism of the city’s finance team.

“Their commitment to accuracy, compliance, and collaboration made this clean audit possible. Every reconciled account, timely report, and coordinated effort strengthens our city and benefits our residents,” Swartz said.

The clean audit ensures Enterprise remains in a strong position for future federal grant applications, maintains compliance with bond disclosure requirements, and underscores the city’s continued progress in financial stewardship.

The full FY 2025 audit is a matter of public record and is available through the City of Enterprise Finance Department.
