If you’ve ever thought about stepping up during wildfire season, this is your chance.

We’re hosting a 6-Day Wildland Firefighter Training designed for people in Chelan, Manson, Entiat, and Orondo, with no prior firefighting experience.

In six days, you’ll learn the core skills needed to work on a wildland fire crew this season — including safety, radio communications, engines and equipment, chainsaw operations, hand tools, and live scenario drills. The training finishes with the arduous pack test and wildland mock drills to prepare you for the real thing.

April 23: 6:00 – 8:00 pm
May 8, 9, 10, 16, 17: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm

Our brand-new brush truck has officially arrived today!! This project has been in the works since last November. We can’t wait to put it to work protecting and serving our community!

Chelan/Douglas County Fire Academy class of 2026 underwent rigorous ladder training outdoors in 35-degree weather, exemplifying their commitment to service. Appreciation is expressed to the Entiat School District for allowing the training to take place on their grounds. Interested in learning how to be a volunteers, we invited to get in touch with the local Fire Department.

This has been ongoing since November. Your ccfd8 firefighters will be welcoming a brand new type 5 brush truck. 2024 Ford F-550 with 143 miles on it. 400 gallon tank with a 24 hp Kubota diesel pump. The pump has .4 hours on it. The pictures don't do it justice. Its getting shipped from Springville Utah on Monday and we should see it at Station 81 on Thursday or Friday. Congrats CCFD8 firefighters.

Fire District #8 FF members participated in the Entiat High School PTO Donkey Basketball Tournament. The game consists of firefighters vs cops. Teachers vs students. Overall, the CCFD #8 FF won the Donkey Basketball Championship! 🥇
