Single lane road closure on Marshall Ave between Wells St and Cole St for road construction activities. The eastbound lane will be open, westbound lane will be closed. The construction will take place from 6/16-6/26. This will be a 24/7 single lane road closure.

Thank you everyone that participated or helped make this yearly Recycling event happen.. Below are the amazing event results.

We had a very busy day for the Enumclaw Spring Recycling Collection Event. Six hundred and seventy-nine (679) carloads of recyclable material arrived. The total amount of material collected was 90,252.1 pounds or 45.15 tons. The total averages out to 133 pounds of material per vehicle. The event also included the distribution of recycled content rain barrels, compost bins, and worm bins to Enumclaw residents. Those items remain popular with City residents.

The event included the collection of:
-42,680 pounds of scrap metals, appliances, and electronic equipment. The material will be sorted into ferrous and non-ferrous metals and made into new products at various area manufacturing plants in the Seattle area.
-12,640 pounds of bulky and scrap wood. The bulky yard debris and the scrap wood will be processed for recycling through MCS Recycle, a wood processor in Renton.
-20 used refrigerators and freezers. The ozone depleting chemicals and gas will be removed from these units and disposed of properly by UpTekk Recycling in Auburn (7,000 pounds).
-7,550 pounds of shredded paper. The confidential documents were shredded on site by Confidential Data Disposal in Issaquah.
-144 propane tanks. Includes 54 5-gallon tanks and 90 1-gallon tanks. The tanks were collected by CleanEarth in the Wastemobile section (3,150 pounds).
-687.5 gallons of used motor oil and mixed fuel products. The material collected by CleanEarth in the Wastemobile section (5,087.5 pounds).
-275 gallons of used antifreeze. The antifreeze was collected by CleanEarth in the Wastemobile section (2,200 pounds).
-22 used oil filters. The filters were collected by CleanEarth in the Wastemobile section (61.6 pounds).
-253 used tires. The tires will be reused if in good condition by Washington Used Tires. If not, chipped and made into such products as garden hoses, playground mats, road bedding, and burned as fuel by Liberty Tire in Puyallup (6,325 pounds).
-33 lead acid batteries. The batteries will be dismantled, the acid disposed of properly, and the cores recycled into new batteries through All Battery in Everett (1,162 pounds).
-10460 household batteries. The batteries will be dismantled, the hazardous material disposed of properly, and the cores recycled into new batteries through All Battery (1,046 pounds).
-12 toilets and sinks. The porcelain material will be processed by local recyclers into concrete material in the Seattle area (900 pounds).
-9 mattresses and box springs. The mattresses and box springs were collected for recycling by UpTekk Recycling (450 pounds

Please follow these collection rules to ensure your waste is picked up and to avoid unexpected fees.

Place all carts curbside by 6:00 AM on your scheduled collection day.

Lids Completely Closed:
-All cart lids must be fully closed to prevent litter and pests.

No Plastic Bags for Yard Waste:
-Plastic bags are strictly prohibited for extra yard waste.
-Use heavy-duty paper lawn bags for any overflow yard waste. Extra Fees Apply:

-Any garbage or yard waste outside of your carts will incur extra charges based on volume.

No Extra Commingle Recycling:
-We cannot collect recycling placed outside of your designated recycling cart.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE

Date:
Please be advised that the APEX Criterium bike race will take place on Sunday, May 31st.

Time:
Event setup will begin at 6:00 a.m. Race hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Event breakdown and reopening of the course area is expected to conclude by 7:00 p.m.

Location:
There will be limited to no vehicle access on portions of Railroad Street, Battersby Avenue, Garrett Street, and Washington Avenue throughout the event.

Note:
Please plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible.
