The Ephrata Borough is seeking a volunteer to serve on the Borough’s Zoning Hearing Board (ZHB).
The Zoning Hearing Board plays an important role in interpreting and applying local zoning regulations that impact our community. The Board hears and decides applications involving zoning variances, special exceptions, nonconforming uses, and appeals of decisions made by the zoning officer. In rendering decisions, the Board considers testimony presented as well as the impact on the community.
Zoning ordinances are established by Borough Council, and the Zoning Hearing Board is charged with the responsibility of approving or denying all applications and appeals based on those ordinances.
The Ephrata Borough Zoning Hearing Board typically meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Council Chamber of Ephrata Borough Hall, 124 South State Street, Ephrata, PA.
Interested in serving your community? Please visit the Borough’s website and complete a Volunteer Interest Request Form.
We encourage residents with an interest in planning, land use, and community development to apply!
