🌨️ Storm Update from the Epping Highway Department 🌨️

Mother Nature has decided to remind us who’s boss with this incoming storm, and she’s not holding back. Forecasts are calling for severe snowfall totals — somewhere between 8” and 80” (we’d love to be more specific, but let’s be honest… the meteorologists haven’t gotten one storm right all winter 😄). What is certain is the potential for intense hourly snowfall rates and very strong, potentially dangerous winds that can create whiteout conditions in seconds, blow snow right back onto cleared roads, and make travel extremely hazardous.

Communities to our south have already declared a state of emergency, and the biggest concern with this storm isn’t just the snow — it’s the wind. Strong gusts can knock down branches, send debris into roadways, and drastically reduce visibility without warning. If you can, stay off the roads while conditions are at their worst. If you absolutely must travel, please leave extra time and remember: plow trucks are not race cars and they don’t like being tailgated. Give them space to do their thing.

We fully expect wind drifts, and our crews will have all available personnel and equipment out doing everything we can to keep them at bay. We’ll be out there battling snowbanks like it’s an action movie — so if your road isn’t perfect right away, just bear with us. We promise we’re not inside sipping cocoa. (Okay… maybe later.)

Also, while you’re checking your driveway, please take a minute to check on your neighbors, especially those who are elderly or handicapped. A quick hello can go a long way during storms like this.

Stay safe, stay warm, and remember: shovels are cheaper than tow trucks.
