George recently developed septic shock from pneumonia. It affected his organs and we almost lost him. Prais...

As the winter season and cooler weather approach the NH Child Passenger Safety Program would like to remind you of the dangers associated with bulky coats.

Coats should not be worn by children that require the use child restraints. Poly fill can make harness straps appear falsely tight. In a crash, forces can cause a child to become ejected from their car seat as a result of the harness having remaining slack when crash forces compress the jacket.

Parents can use blankets in the car, thin fleece or put the jacket on the child backwards after securing them in their car seat. If you have questions about jacket fit send an email with photos to [email protected]. Have a safe and Happy Holiday! Remember the best gift you can give your family is to get where you are going! Buckle up and restrain everyone properly to get the most out of your holiday season!
