Hey Epsom residents. Do you have a barn or other historic ancillary structure on your property that is older than 75 years? Want to apply for some relief on your property taxes? The filing period is open from now until April 15th 2026 for the RSA 79-D Historic Barn Preservation Easement. If approved, you could be granted relief from 25%-75% of the building's assessed value in exchange for maintaining your barn(s) for a period of ten years, at which time you can apply to renew the easement for another ten years. While this is not a direct credit of your tax bill, it still can provide some savings on your property taxes. Click the link below for more information and to access the application. To all you historic homeowners out there, if you're in need of replacement parts for your old house, be sure to check out this salvage yard over in South Hampton New Hampshire. I've pasted a link to their page below. If you need anything from a door k**b to a mantle to a full flight of stairs, they'll most likely have it! The Epsom Heritage Commission is meeting tomorrow night (9/16/25) at 5:30pm in the lower level of the Meetinghouse. It's a public meeting and anyone is welcome to attend if they'd like to see what we're all about.

Welcome to the Epsom Heritage Commission's newly created page. I was hopeful that there would be enough room in the "Bio" section of this page to post our full mission statement. Here is the full statement:

Epsom Heritage Commission Mission Statement
The Epsom Heritage Commission will properly recognize, protect, and
promote the historic resources that are significant to our community,
be they natural, built, or cultural. The Commission will work cooperatively with other Town boards, as well as educational and civic
organizations in fulfilling its mission.
