ive elementary schools in Western Dubuque Community School District. Epworth is a small community of approximately 1,500 residents. The student population is made up of children from the city of Epworth and surrounding rural areas. The school consists of 19 classrooms, art room, music room, media center, gymnasium and cafeteria. The building uses geothermal energy for heating and cooling resulting in year-round climate control. There are twenty-eight desktop computers available in the Epworth Elementary computer lab and an additional thirty laptop computers on a mobile cart for student and teacher use. More than fifty iPads are available for student and teacher use as well. Eighteen interactive whiteboards equipped with ActivInspire software have been installed in classrooms to enhance instruction while promoting active student engagement in the learning environment. The faculty at Epworth Elementary is dedicated to providing a challenging and rigorous curriculum to all of our students, in a nuturing and safe environment. We facilitate the growth of our students socially, behaviorally, and emotionally, as well as academically.
