September 25th is the National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims, a day to honor the lives of those lost to homicide and recognize the families, friends, and communities who continue to carry their memories.

Throughout the month of September, our Wall of Remembrance will be displayed in the Crime Victim Center lobby. Anyone who has lost a loved one to homicide is welcome to contribute a photo, memory, or message in their honor.

On September 25th at 5:30 PM, Crime Victim Center will host a Candlelight Vigil to remember and honor loved ones whose lives were taken. We invite our community to join us as we come together in reflection, remembrance, and support for those who continue to grieve. 🕯️💙

Whether through a photograph, a story, or simply lighting a candle, every act of remembrance helps keep their lives and legacies close.

Today is Grief Awareness Day. 💙

Grief looks different for everyone. There is no “right” way to grieve, no timeline for healing, and no need to have all the answers. Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do for someone who is grieving is simply be there and remind them they don’t have to walk through it alone.

At Crime Victim Center, we understand that grief can be a part of many different kinds of loss and trauma. We’re here to offer support, compassion, and a safe space for healing, whenever that journey begins.

If you’re grieving today, be gentle with yourself. Your grief is valid, and you deserve support. 💙

It’s back-to-school season! We’re celebrating with our CVC staff and their first day of school boards. 💙 We hope everyone has a safe, successful, and fun school year!

As you’re sharing those first day photos, remember to take a moment to think about how much information is visible in the picture. Details like a child’s full name, school name, teacher, classroom, bus number, location, or daily schedule can sometimes be gathered from a seemingly simple photo.

Before posting, take a quick look at the background, the board, and the caption to make sure you’re not sharing more information than you intend to. And remember, you can celebrate the milestone without sharing every detail!
