Have you stopped in to see all the artwork from the 7th Annual Erie Art Show? It is the final week to do so if you haven't yet! The artwork will be displayed through October 31st, and then pieces can be picked up starting November 1st. We've loved having all the pieces up on display - which is your favorite?

Have you ever heard of Pack Burro Racing? No?! Well, you are in for a treat. One of our Library Associates, Ashley (there in the high-vis vest, very stylish), spends her summer weekends volunteering at these races that honor the mining history of our region and she wanted to bring the summer hertiage sport of Colorado to you here at the library!

Join the team of ReDONKulous Ranch Sanctuary & Rescue and some of their racing donkeys (weather permitting) on Thursday, October 29th to learn about the history of Pack Burro Racing and more! This is an all ages event and registration is required. https://highplains.libcal.com/event/16902958

I don't know about you, but a book with musical undertones just sounds like abolute magic, and that's not saying anything about the actual magic that is part of the book! Book Talk Tuesday has seen many fantasy books, but The Ballad of Perilous Graves by Alex Jennings may be the first that requires saving the soul of a city 👀

What books do you know that feature music or songs as part of the general atmosphere or plot? Any Hero's Journey stories that you adore and think others should follow along on? Let us know in the comments!

The first thing that popped into my head while tring to come up with something fun to write as a caption was the jingle for Goldfish™ crackers: take that tune and use the words "the genre that bites you back, vam-pires!" (-Insert Dracula laugh- aaaaand I will see myself out.) But for real, while these books will not bite you, you can sink some fake fangs into their content with some novelty vampire teeth! Stop by our display section to pick out a book and your favorite color chompers - here until October 31st!

Flex those creative muscles and join us for a GIANT art day at Family & Friends Arct Club! Next week on October 20th, Ms. Claire will be showing us how to make giant origami, how to paint with marbles to make big paintings, and how to work together to draw with a spider pen! It will be so, so, SO fun, and you should absolutely bring your friends.

See you there!
