Erie Fire Protection District The Erie Fire Protection District is a volunteer department that serves over 120 square miles.

The department consists of two Ambulances, seven Fire/Rescue vehicles, and one rescue boat.

At last nights meeting, we trained on Boat Operations!

Boat 7 sees maybe the least amount of action of any of our apparatus. However, we take great pride in keeping our skills and knowledge sharp so when we are called to action, we can carry out our duties at an exceptional level.

With the Rock River only about 2 miles from our station, it is important that we fit some time in the training schedule to use Boat 7 and all of its tools and capabilities! Plus, there’s something so nice about a boat ride on a hot July day☀️

Hose testing is back! Our favorite time of year🤪

Did you know? Per NFPA 1962, fire departments are required to pressure test all fire hose at least annually.

🔥Attack hose must be tested at a minimum of 300 psi or a pressure not to exceed the service test pressure marked on the hose

🔥Supply hose must be tested to a minimum of 200 psi or a pressure not to exceed the service test pressure marked on the hose

The Erie Fire Department is extremely grateful for the support we received yesterday. Last year we served 745 meals, this year we crushed that with 864 meals served! We couldn’t do it without all of you who continuously show up year after year, event after event. Maybe next year we’ll hit the 900 mark😉

Who can spot something different in this picture?!

That’s right, we made a big change! After a lot of planning and careful consideration, we decided to get up with the times and trade in Brush 2 on a brand new all electric Cybertruck!

The timing of the new arrival couldn’t have been more perfect now that we’re in the heart of brush fire season! We are so excited!
