The Erie Fire Department is extremely grateful for the support we received yesterday. Last year we served 745 meals, this year we crushed that with 864 meals served! We couldn’t do it without all of you who continuously show up year after year, event after event. Maybe next year we’ll hit the 900 mark😉

🔥ANNOUNCEMENT🔥

Who can spot something different in this picture?!

That’s right, we made a big change! After a lot of planning and careful consideration, we decided to get up with the times and trade in Brush 2 on a brand new all electric Cybertruck!

The timing of the new arrival couldn’t have been more perfect now that we’re in the heart of brush fire season! We are so excited!

At our March Fire meeting, Chief Scott Melton announced the promotion of K.B. Melton III from Assistant Chief to Deputy Chief. This is signified by a new helmet shield with 4 bugles instead of the 3 before. Congratulations, Deputy Chief! 🔥

Last night we held our Annual Fire & EMS Appreciation Banquet at Harvest to celebrate the volunteers who serve our community.

In the first responder world, volunteers are sometimes minimized by the phrase “just volunteers.” The reality is many meet the same training standards and respond to the same emergencies as career departments. And when the pager goes off at 2 a.m., the people responding aren’t “just” anything—they’re trained, dedicated members of this community who choose to serve. We believe that's something to celebrate!

To our volunteers, trustees, families, and retirees— thank you for everything you do for this town.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the businesses who donated thousands of dollars in products so every member could take home an appreciation gift. These grown men & women tore into those giveaways like kids on Christmas. That generosity says a lot about how this community views the selfless service of our Fire & EMS members & last night they were all feeling the love❤️
