Twenty-five years ago, the world changed, and the courage, resilience, and unity that followed reminded us of what we are capable of in our darkest moments.

On Patriot Day, we pause to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to pay tribute to the first responders, volunteers, and everyday individuals who showed extraordinary strength when it mattered most.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Labor Day is all about celebrating the workforce, and the best way to honor hard work is to take a real break from it. So to celebrate, our team is fully committing to the cause by penciling some cat naps into our schedules this weekend.

A quick heads-up: The office is closed on Monday, September 7th. We will be back on Tuesday, September 8th — recharged, refreshed, and ready to get to meal deliveries and grocery shopping.
Meals for today were included in the Friday, September 4th deliveries.

We hope you have a long weekend full of good food, good company, and zero emails!

Calling all helping hands 📣 WE NEED YOU!
Meals on Wheels Erie is growing - we've added a second kitchen to increase our meal capacity - and now we're looking for volunteers to serve on a regular basis.

Our #1 Need: Meal Delivery Route Drivers - with just a couple of hours, one day a week, you can make a meaningful difference in our homebound, senior neighbors' lives. The process is easy and we provide all the training and support you need. Volunteers are truly the heartbeat of our organization and we couldn't reach 260+ neighbors without their dedication.

If you are willing and able to help, we would be so grateful. It’s only through our amazing volunteers that we are able to enable people to agea at home wtih dignity by providing a compassionate check-in, nutritious meals and grocery delivery.

What a swingin’ success!

A heartfelt thank-you to every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, and supporter who joined us for the 8th Annual Take a Swing Against Hunger Golf Scramble on August 31 at Beechwood Golf Club.

Despite a soggy start, the sunshine prevailed and so did the spirit of generosity! With 20 foursomes ready to play, everyone came together for a great time and an even greater cause.

Because of your support, we raised enough to provide meals for 6 veterans for an entire year through our Veterans in Need Meal Program. That is something truly worth celebrating!

Today, the Meals on Wheels Erie team is proud to host our 8th Annual Take a Swing Against Hunger Golf Scramble, raising critical support for our Veterans in Need Meal Program.

While our office remains open to assist clients and take grocery orders, meal deliveries will not take place today. Meals for Monday, August 31, were delivered in advance on Friday, August 28, together with recipients' weekend meals. Regular meal deliveries will resume on Tuesday, September 1.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our Title Sponsor, CK Healthcare Advisors, whose continued partnership helps ensure Erie County veterans have access to nutritious meals and the support they need to age safely and independently at home.

Thank you to our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners for making this event possible. Your generosity helps us deliver far more than a meal. We look forward to seeing even more teams on the course next year!
