Today, the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Erie officially celebrated the completion of Phase 1 of the East Bayfront Greenway Trail.

This project transformed vacant and underused properties into trails, pocket parks, public art, and welcoming spaces for East Bayfront residents.

Thank you to the City of Erie, Mayor Devlin, Erie City Council, the RACE Board, LSSE, Cronin Enterprises, Groundwork Erie, the Looking Glass Art Project, neighborhood residents, and the many community partners who helped make this project possible.

Phase 1 is an important investment in the East Bayfront neighborhood and a strong foundation for the future phases of the Greenway.

The Erie County Land Bank is bringing back its free Master Homeowner Program this fall. This seven-class series gives Erie County residents practical information to help care for their homes, property, and neighborhoods.

🏠 Your voice can help shape the future of housing in Erie County.

The Erie County Department of Planning and Community Development is developing a Comprehensive Housing Strategy to better understand and address housing needs throughout the county.
Residents are invited to attend one of four community meetings to share their experiences, concerns, and ideas about housing in their communities. Your feedback will help identify local needs, barriers, and opportunities as the County develops its action plan.

*Representatives from the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Erie will be present at these events so feel free to ask us questions about our housing programs!

Older homes may contain lead-based paint, which can create hazards when paint begins to chip, peel, crack, or create dust.
Lead hazards may be found on painted surfaces inside and outside the home, including windows, doors, siding, porches, flooring, and walls. Lead exposure can be especially harmful to young children.
RACE’s Lead Hazard Control Program may be able to help eligible households identify and address lead hazards and improve home safety.

The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Erie is proud to partner with Erie Arts & Culture on Color the City, a creative neighborhood revitalization initiative that brings art, community pride, and redevelopment together.

As RACE acquires vacant and blighted properties and prepares them for future redevelopment, temporary plywood coverings are sometimes needed to secure these sites. Through Color the City, those panels will become community-created works of art that add color, positivity, and a sense of care to Erie neighborhoods.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening neighborhoods through creativity, collaboration, and responsible redevelopment.
By bringing residents, artists, and community partners together, Color the City helps turn vacant spaces into visible signs of possibility.
