Join Calipo for City Council and help revitalize the inner city! Erie has a real need in the inner city, children and adults in need of housing and positive activities to participate. The solution is to invest time and money into homeless shelters and reinvent our inner city community centers. Those centers would be the Martin Luther King Center, & Booker T. Lets raise awareness that poverty does

not have to be generational and can recover from. Each year in Erie County we have several homeless people which die due to exposure to the elements, how about if we change that statistic? People matter, lets love thy neighbor and do unto others acts of good which make our city a better place to raise a family.

I love Erie as most do, I think there is too much greed in politics. Its all about who you know and how much money you have. I can say it distresses me that our officials keep voting for pay raises when they are not doing their job. Mayor Sinnott voted a raise for himself in hopes that he will be reelected. At that same time we had county reassesments which skyrocketed property taxes to unfairly tax them. On top of that there is a 10 percent late fee when you dont pay taxes on time. These values are not retroactive if you appeal your tax values. This is unjust to the citizens as all changes are retroactive in other arenas.

Posted by Stephen D. Durant: The city opened it's eyes when the times news did an article on a homeless encampment. The city in collusion with CSX railroad evicted the homeless. We build $170,000.00 condominiums two blocks from the largest homeless concentration in the city. The Mayor is clueless,Mr. Grossman is too busy putting out the fires set by the flunkies he either inherited or hired. Places like The MHA, The City Mission, The Upper Room, and Community of Caring do their best to keep people off of the streets during these cold Erie winters, but it is not enough with the meager assistance they receive from this administration. We can all say that more needs to be done but sadly it will not happen. Erie is not the communal stick together family oriented community that many of us grew up in. Somewhere we became cold selfish and heartless....

Think of how cold you've felt this past week. Your burning fingertips and numb toes while shoveling. The icy wind painfully smacking your face, even on short, brisk walks from your car to your office or house door. Now think of being homeless. Exactly. Face it, folks: We live in a take-it-for-gra...

Linda Foll Johnson wasn't always a successful Realtor. She vividly remembers struggling as a single mother raising two boys in a trailer in McKean. Johnson worked as a waitress, living paycheck to paycheck, and had no extra money. She was then steered toward a special tax break created as a pover...

I called the Mental Health Association and the warming center is only open from 11 pm to 7 am.. where do homeless people go in the interim? I want to go see how many people attend the center and I'm thinking we need another homeless center. There are abandoned buildings that could be utilized

I was interviewed by Erica Erwin from Erie Times News today. She asked Q about why I'm running and what I'll do dift. I told her my goals and that I do not want to waste money on alot of campaign ads. If I win the primary election May 21, and make it on the General election ballot, I explained that I will be having bicycle give aways through the city of Erie as opposed to paying for billboard advertising. One main goal is to five away bikes at the Jim Thompson picnic on July 4, in that respect I could reduce the number of thefts bc the kids would have their own bikes.
