A Flood Watch takes effect today at noon and runs through Thursday afternoon for locations south of I-40. We are expecting showers to increase by this afternoon, with the potential for heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms continuing overnight and into Thursday. Again, the greatest concern is for locations south of I-40, especially near the TN/AL line. Fortunately, the risk of severe storms is very low; this is primarily going to be a heavy rain event. Look for the showers to taper off by Friday, but more rain is expected on Saturday. The current warm weather we're enjoying will continue through Saturday, with cooler weather returning on Sunday. Temperatures will remain entirely above freezing until Monday and Tuesday mornings.
