🚨 DON'T LET AN IMPAIRED FRIEND DRIVE 🚨

You might think you're being a good friend by staying quiet when someone who has been using ma*****na or another impairing substance says they're okay to drive.

Don't.

If someone is impaired, take the keys and help them find a safe way home. Don't worry about offending them β€” they may thank you later. More importantly, you could save a life.

And remember: passengers should never get into a vehicle with an impaired driver. If you believe someone behind the wheel may be impaired, stay out of the vehicle and contact local law enforcement.

During the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, the Lower Township Police Department reminds everyone:

πŸ‘‰ If you've used an impairing substance, don't drive.
πŸ‘‰ If your friend is impaired, don't let them drive.
πŸ‘‰ If you see an impaired driver, report it.

Everyone deserves to make it home safely. Let's look out for one another. πŸš”

🏍️ DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER 🏍️

As part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, the Lower Township Police Department is reminding everyone β€” including our motorcycle riders β€” that drinking and driving can have deadly consequences.

In 2024, 6,228 motorcyclists were killed in traffic crashes nationwide, accounting for 16% of all traffic fatalities. Of the motorcycle riders killed in single-vehicle crashes, 40% were alcohol-impaired.

The upcoming Labor Day weekend is also a time to pay extra attention. During the 2024 Labor Day holiday period, 113 motorcycle riders were killed nationwide, and 31 of those deaths occurred in drunk-driving crashes.

🏍️ If you're riding, ride sober.
🍺 If you're drinking, don't ride.
πŸ”‘ Have a sober driver or another safe way home.
πŸ‘€ If you see someone attempting to ride or drive while impaired, don't be afraid to step in.

One decision can make the difference between making it home and never making it home.

Lower Township Police will be out working to keep impaired drivers and riders off our roads.
