2nd Annual Small Town, Big Picnic Recap!

What a wonderful evening of community, family fun, and hometown pride at our 2nd Annual Small Town, Big Picnic last weekend!

We were thrilled to see such a fantastic crowd gather to celebrate everything that makes Unicoi County special. As the sun began to set, families, friends, and neighbors came together to enjoy great music, friendly competition, delicious food, and the simple joy of spending time with one another.

A huge thank you to our incredible entertainers, Abbey Winters, the Southern Highlanders, and the Spivey Mountain Boys, who provided the perfect soundtrack for a fun-filled summer evening.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in our Watermelon Eating Contest, Pickle Eating Contest, Salsa Contest, Pie Contest, and Jams & Jellies Contest. The competition was tough, and the entries were outstanding!

A special thank you to Summers-Taylor, Inc and Grand True Value Rental for generously sponsoring the contest cash prizes awarded throughout the evening. We are grateful for their continued investment in community events that bring people together and celebrate the spirit of Unicoi County.

A special thank you also goes to all of the agencies, businesses, and organizations that participated in our Touch-A-Truck experience. Children had the opportunity to climb aboard vehicles, explore equipment, and learn about the important work being done throughout our community. The smiles and excitement on their faces made it one of the highlights of the evening. Thank you as well to the businesses and organizations that hosted booths and activities, helping create a fun and engaging experience for attendees of all ages.

Most importantly, we extend our sincere gratitude to Brightspeed for serving as the event's presenting sponsor. Their generous support allowed us to expand the event and provide even more FREE activities and family-friendly experiences for everyone to enjoy.

The Small Town, Big Picnic is all about celebrating the best of SMALL town living in a BIG way. Last weekend's event showcased the strong sense of community, hospitality, and hometown spirit that makes Unicoi County such a special place to call home.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, volunteered, sponsored, and helped make this year's event such a tremendous success.

We look forward to seeing you again next year!
