Join us for a fun-filled Dino Dinner the whole family will enjoy! We’ll be serving up kid-favorite bites like dino nuggets, “dinosaur eggs” (chocolate treats), herbivore-approved fruits and veggie cups, and more. After dinner, stick around for our Dinosaur Cookie Decorating Contest and compete for prizes for the most creative design. It’s a dino-mite evening full of food, fun, and friendly competition! 🦖

Join our Adult Book Club as we read an exciting book this month. Come prepared to enjoy a lively discussion of the reading and share treats from Burney’s Bakery in Erwin as you chat.

This month’s pick is:
The Tattooist of Auschwitz

“In April 1942, Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, is forcibly transported to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. When his captors discover that he speaks several languages, he is put to work as a Tätowierer (the German word for tattooist), tasked with permanently marking his fellow prisoners.

“Imprisoned for more than two and a half years, Lale witnesses horrific atrocities and barbarism—but also incredible acts of bravery and compassion. Risking his own life, he uses his privileged position to exchange jewels and money from murdered Jews for food to keep his fellow prisoners alive.

“One day in July 1942, Lale, prisoner 32407, comforts a trembling young woman waiting in line to have the number 34902 tattooed onto her arm. Her name is Gita, and in that first encounter, Lale vows to somehow survive the camp and marry her.”

This month at Spice Club, we explored the flavorful world of oregano! Participants took home a sample of this classic herb and tried our featured recipe: Creamy Tuscan Chicken — a rich and comforting dish packed with savory Italian-inspired flavors.

We love seeing how a single spice can inspire new recipes, kitchen creativity, and great conversations. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

✨ Coming in July: Our featured spice will be Poppy Seed! Whether sprinkled into baked goods, dressings, or savory dishes, poppy seeds add a unique texture and subtle nutty flavor.

Join us for our monthly Legendary LEGO Club Challenge, where your creativity and engineering skills are put to the test! Builders will have one hour to tackle a brand-new monthly challenge, working solo or teaming up with friends to bring their visions to life. Once the time is up, all builds will be displayed in the library for the community to admire and vote for their challenge winner throughout the month. Winners will be announced at the start of the next Legendary Lego Club, where they will earn a prize for their creations!

This month's challenge: Building Vertically. Your LEGO base plate will be propped up upright, and you’ll have to build outward from a standing surface. Come see if you can make your bricks defy gravity!
