The U.S. Small Business Administration is taking its Upper Peninsula Community Tour and Town Hall to The Hive on Cedar in Manistique on September 23. Small business owners and entrepreneurs can connect directly with resources focused on access to capital, free counseling, business programming, and more.
Representatives from SBA, Michigan Small Business Development Center Upper Peninsula Region, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Upper Peninsula Michigan Works!, APEX Accelerator, and InvestUP will be on hand to answer questions, hear what local businesses need, and help connect them with the right resources.

Marquette area contractors! There is a Michigan Home Energy Rebates Program (MiHER) Contractor Connection event being held at our Marquette location on Friday, September 11th from 4-6pm. Through MiHER, contractors can offer improvements to qualified households and access more business opportunities, program resources, and training.

Last week we had the privilege of sponsoring Lunch with Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist at the UP State Fairgrounds alongside many others, and our staff had a fantastic time! For more than 20 years we have participated in this annual event held by the Delta County, Michigan -- Chamber of Commerce, which brings together State leadership, U.P. employers, community leaders, residents, and other stakeholders in an accessible setting. This year, over 500 attendees got to hear directly from the Lt. Governor and ask questions or share concerns. The event also promotes community and economic connections by bringing together organizations, showcasing signature dishes from Chamber-member restaurants, and highlighting the sponsors and partners that support the region.

U.P. Michigan Works! has long enjoyed supporting the event’s logistics and helping to create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere, and we are grateful for another opportunity to show our commitment to the U.P. and it’s people. Thank you to all those who attended.
