While resilience is often defined as the ability to withstand or recover quickly from difficulties, what is often overlooked is how resilience more precisely describes the ability to evolve and adapt without breaking. Resilience isn’t just about brute strength; it’s about being nimble, innovative, and maintaining a growth mindset.” –Trans Lifeline via Facebook. Trans survivors who want to speak with a peer can call the Trans Lifeline. All survivors also can call our 24/7 Helpline at (906) 789-1166.

💙 Community Partners Make All the Difference 💙

Sometimes it's the everyday necessities that make the biggest difference.

Late last week, the washing machine in Tri-County Safe Harbor's emergency shelter unexpectedly failed. For most households, a broken washer is an inconvenience. For an emergency shelter operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it quickly becomes a critical need.

That's why we are especially grateful to the Community Foundation for Delta County for coming to our rescue. Their generous support provided the funding needed to purchase a new washing machine, ensuring that the survivors and families staying in our shelter continue to have access to clean clothing, bedding, and towels without further interruption.

The Community Foundation's swift response reminds us what it means to live in a caring and compassionate community. Their investment may seem simple, but it directly supports the dignity, comfort, and well-being of the individuals and families who turn to Tri-County Safe Harbor during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and the survivors we serve, THANK YOU, Community Foundation for Delta County, for your generosity, partnership, and commitment to helping our community's most vulnerable residents.

Together, we are making a difference—one act of kindness at a time.

💙 Thank you for helping us continue our mission of providing safety, hope, and support.

Members of LGBTQ communities in the U.S. face higher rates of sexual violence than the general population … perpetrated both by non-LGBTQ individuals—often coming in the form of hate crimes, which are crimes perpetrated specifically in response to someone’s identity—and also by other LGBTQ individuals.” –RAINN (R**e, Abuse & In**st National Network).
