Our youth coalition took a field trip out to the New Mexico Wildlife Center to learn more about the various animals that are housed there. This was a wonderful opportunity.

We are actively looking for youth (6th grade - 12th grade) who would like to join the coalition. Please contact RAC-STOP at 505-747-1418.

We visited the New Mexico Wildlife Center today. It was an exciting opportunity to learn more about some of their inhabitants like the Bobcat, Bald Eagle, Osprey, and Racoon. Thank you to the Wildlife Center for all the work that they do.

Generation Hope Youth Coalition

Like the new page for our Generation Hope Youth Coalition. We are actively recruiting youth (grades 6th-12th) to join our coalition. Their mission is to work together towards a drug-free community: ONE teen and ONE family at a time. This an exciting opportunity for our youth to get engaged in a positive way. Before COVID, the youth were able to attend the CADCA leadership forum out in Washington D.C. Help us spread the word.

Our mission is to work together towards a Drug-free community: one teen and one family at a time.

Did you know that safely disposing of old & unused prescription medications significantly decreases the risk of youth Rx medication access and the potential for misuse or abuse!? ❌💊❌

💓 Remember, sharing does not equal caring when it comes to prescription drugs! Show how much you care and dispose of any unused and expired medications at our 2 local Rio Arriba County Prescription Rx Drug disposal sites (more info in the picture below).

Have a safe and happy weekend everyone! 👍

We understand that our most previous post has been upsetting to some of our community members and we respect the feedback you have shared with us on what you feel is a more effective way to address the issue of prescription drug misuse in Rio Arriba.

Below is a list of ideas on how you can participate in helping your family prevent opioid misuse, including the 2 prescription drug drop off sites in our County. As well, we will begin to share information on local, state wide, and national mental health resources this coming week.

If you have any additional feedback for us, or if you are a parent or caregiver to a youth in our community, you can contact [email protected] to find out how to get involved in helping us create community informed educational materials to help keep our families safe!

Posted is a map of our upcoming Halloween Drive-Thru. We will have cones in between the west bound lanes, to help guide vehicles into the right line so they can safely drive in and out of our parking lot. We are asking vehicles to exit through Calle de la Merced and then onto Santa Clara Peak RD (by State Police). To keep this event safe, everyone MUST remain in their vehicle for the duration of this drive-thru. Thank you!

We are excited to see you all!
