COMMUNITY NOTICE: July 5 |

Controlled Explosive Disposal at Oakdale Fire Site

As part of ongoing recovery and investigation efforts at the Oakdale Fire site, authorized personnel will conduct a controlled explosive disposal today. This planned and carefully managed operation is being conducted by CAL FIRE, the ATF National Response Team, and regional bomb squad partners to safely remove hazardous materials identified at the scene.

Residents may hear loud noises or notice smoke and odors in the area during this time. This is expected and part of the controlled process. The operation is anticipated to continue through approximately 3:30 p.m. There is no immediate threat to public safety, and all necessary safety protocols are in place.

We kindly request that you respect our decision and refrain from posting negative comments. Instead, let us focus on showing support and respect for those impacted by this unforeseen accident and keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

We will be conducting more prescribed training burn today. We will be off of county road 85 and county road 16a.

Day 2 of the prescribed training burn class today is out off of County road 85 by the Capay open space park and Granite.

We are conducting a two day prescribed training burn on county road 87 near Granite. This will probably be an all day training on Saturday and Sunday Thank you.

We along with neighboring agencies are conducting a prescribed burn off of county road 23. This is going to be a large burn. Smoke will be very visible from the town of Capay and Esparto. Thank you.
