This summer, participate in a community art project to celebrate Essex! We will be creating a paper quilt that represents our community, and there will be many ways to contribute! Stay tuned for more details about events and workshops, and stop in to get involved in the artistic process! A huge "thank you" to the Essex County Arts Council for their funding support of this project!

In celebration of National Library Week, ALA President Sam Helmick writes:

"Joy can be a quiet thing.

"Joy is the child who discovers their first favorite book and insists on reading it again right there on the library floor. Joy is the job seeker who finally finds the right words for a résumé. Joy is the new parent who finds community in a storytime circle, or the neighbor who walks through our doors not because they need something specific, but because they need somewhere to belong.

Join us this Friday, April 10, at 10:30 for a storytime and learning activity about the many wonderful birds in our area! Appropriate for children of all ages and their grown-ups. Don't forget -- it's likely to be muddy outside, so wear your rain boots for our bird-watching walk! Anyone who chooses not to participate in the walk is welcome to stay at the library to read, color, or play in the children's room.
