🍝 FETTUCCINE & RAVIOLI UPDATE! 🇮🇹🐾
Our tiniest little noodles are cooking right along and well on their way to the perfect al dente! 🤌
Fettuccine and Ravioli are doing great and, as you can clearly see from those faces, eating like TRUE Italians.
These two are currently enjoying multiple five-course meals a day — and apparently proper table manners are not part of the menu. 😂
Eat. Get it all over your face. Waddle around. Nap. Wake up and demand the next course. Repeat.
Their little bellies are getting fuller, their legs are getting stronger, and their personalities are starting to come out more every day. For two tiny kittens who needed some extra TLC, we couldn't be happier with how they're coming along.
They still have some growing and simmering to do before they're ready for the world, so for now...
🍝 Keep eating, little noodles. We’ll let everyone know when the pasta is officially al dente! 🐱❤️

Sherlock did fantastic at the vet and received a clean bill of health, along with his rabies and distemper vaccines. Our handsome detective is estimated to be about 5–6 years old, and he is one seriously happy guy.
Sherlock is happy to meet just about anyone, walks fantastically on a leash, and has already made it very clear what his favorite hobby is…
🎾 BALL. BALL. AND MORE BALL.
He’s friendly, fun, affectionate, and ready to trade shelter life for a home of his own.

🐾 MEET RAVIOLI & FETTUCCINE! 🍝🍼
Just two weeks old and already keeping Regional Animal Control VERY busy!
These two tiny pasta babies have officially been named Ravioli & Fettuccine, and they require exactly what kittens this young need—around-the-clock care, bottle feedings, warmth, cleaning, and lots and lots of TLC.
And this is definitely one of those times we can say: thank goodness Regional Animal Control is a 24/7 department! Because Ravioli and Fettuccine did NOT receive the memo about normal business hours. 😂
There are late-night feedings, early-morning feedings, middle-of-the-night check-ins…and plenty of tiny kitten opinions in between.
And can we PLEASE talk about those teeny-tiny pink TOE BEANS?! 🐾🩷 Seriously. Those beans!
For now, Ravioli & Fettuccine are safe, warm, fed, and very loved while we work on getting them big and strong. It’s always a challenge to get tiny babies healthy without their mom. But we are going to do everything we can!

Approximately 847 feedings to go. 😂
And enough little pink toe beans to make every one of them worth it.

🐾 COMING UP FOR ADOPTION TO A TOWN NEAR YOU… SHERLOCK! 🐾
Sherlock was never claimed… but don’t worry, because he has officially claimed something of his own — THE BALL. 🎾😂
And apparently, the ball is now his best friend.
This boy is an absolutely phenomenal family dog. Sherlock loves everyone he meets, happily accepts all the butt rubs you’re willing to give, and if there’s a ball around to fetch, you’ve officially made his day.
He has quickly won us over at Regional Animal Control with his happy, friendly personality, and we truly cannot say enough good things about him.
Sherlock will be fully vaccinated and officially ready for adoption this Saturday! Keep an eye on our page for his official adoption announcement and application information.
We’re hoping the applications come rolling in for this guy because Sherlock is seriously 100% phenomenal dog and deserves an equally phenomenal family. ❤️

🐔 Well, we finally figured out why the chicken crossed the road…
She was looking for a new home! 😂
Our surprise feathered guest at Regional Animal Control has officially found herself a happy new home where she’ll be safe, spoiled, and—most importantly—expected to contribute to the household.
Her rent? Eggs. 🥚
After wandering her way into our care, this sweet girl is heading off to enjoy her next chapter with a family ready to appreciate everything she brings to the coop.
Another happy ending from Regional Animal Control — because apparently we don’t just find forever homes for dogs and cats. Sometimes they come with feathers, too. ❤️🐔

🐔 WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD… ON RATTLING VALLEY ROAD IN DEEP RIVER?
The world may never know. 🤷‍♀️
What we do know is that she is now safe and sound at Regional Animal Control!
And yes… we don’t just take care of dogs and cats. Animal Control cares for all kinds of domestic animals, and apparently today’s shelter guest has feathers.
This lovely lady was found wandering on Rattling Valley Road in Deep River. She appears to be old enough to lay eggs—and just to prove it, she promptly left us an egg at the shelter as a thank-you present for rescuing her. 🥚😂
She is currently being fed, kept comfortable, and safely housed away from our canine residents… some of whom may have slightly different ideas about what it means to “welcome the chicken.” 🍗👀
No rotisserie chicken happening on our watch.
Now we just need to solve the mystery:

🐾 UPDATE ON THE HOUDINIS… AND THE UNION STREET MYSTERY CONTINUES! 🔎
Our Houdinis, Harry and Bess, have still not been claimed.
The good news is that these two very frightened pups are slowly starting to come out of their shells. We’ve been giving them plenty of time and space to decompress, and little by little, we’re gaining their trust.
Today was a BIG step — they took their first cookies from our hands! 🍪❤️
For dogs who arrived so scared and unsure, that little cookie was a pretty big victory.

Meanwhile…apparently we have ourselves a Union Street Mystery here in Deep River!!

Meet the newest member of the mystery: Sherlock! 🔎🐾
Sherlock is the sweet male Shepherd mix picked up roaming Union Street this morning. He is also currently unclaimed, and we’re hoping his appropriately chosen name might bring us a few more clues as to why we suddenly have such a mystery unfolding around Union Street!
One detail that has certainly caught our attention: all three dogs were first spotted in the early morning hours, around 5:00 AM or within roughly the same early-morning timeframe.
We want to be very clear that we do NOT know at this time whether Harry, Bess, and Sherlock are connected or whether these are completely separate incidents. However, with three unclaimed dogs appearing in the same general area and during similar early-morning hours, we would be remiss not to look a little closer.
That’s where our community—and your cameras—may be able to help. 🔎
For Harry & Bess: We are specifically looking for camera footage from Union Street by the church and along Elm Street leading up toward the Deep River Fire Department. A few residents have already reached out, and we greatly appreciate it. We are especially interested in footage from the early morning hours around 5:00 AM and afterward.
For Sherlock: We’re asking residents along Union Street heading toward the Chester line to check their cameras from the early morning hours as well.
Even a short clip showing one of the dogs, which direction they came from, when they first appeared, or any vehicle activity associated with their arrival could provide an important piece of the puzzle.
Again, we are not saying these three dogs were dropped off together or that the cases are definitely connected. We simply have enough similarities that we want to gather as much information as possible before drawing any conclusions.
Three unclaimed dogs. Similar area. Similar early-morning timeframe. No owners coming forward.
Sherlock, we hope you live up to your name, because Regional Animal Control officially has a Union Street mystery to solve! 🔎🐾

🚨 OH NO… ANOTHER UNION STREET ROAMER! 🐾
Union Street seems to be the place to be lately! This time, we had a visitor roaming near the Chester/Deep River town line.
This handsome male Shepherd mix was caught on camera around 5:45 AM and was called in to Regional Animal Control this morning. Thankfully, he was safely located and turned out to be an absolute sweetheart. He happily took a ride with us and is now safe, comfortable, and being well cared for at the shelter.
Now we need your help getting him home!

🐾 THE HOUDINIS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT! 🐾
After quite the morning adventure through Deep River, both roaming Huskies have finally been safely caught and are now resting at Regional Animal Control.
Meet our temporary escape-artist duo:
❤️🤍 “Bess Houdini” — our red-and-white female
🖤🤍 “Harry Houdini” — our black-and-white male
For now, both are safe, decompressing…and doing plenty of Husky yodeling to make sure the entire shelter knows they have arrived. 😂
We are actively trying to locate their owner. Our first call came in at approximately 7:00 AM this morning near the Deep River Fire Department. At this time, we have received no calls from anyone claiming ownership, and based on the circumstances, we are unfortunately concerned that these two may have been abandoned.
We are asking residents and businesses in the area of the Deep River Fire Department to please check Ring cameras, security cameras, or other footage from the early morning hours. We are particularly interested in any footage that may show these dogs arriving in the area or being let out of a vehicle.
If you have footage or information that could help us determine where Harry and Bess came from, please contact Regional Animal Control at 860-391-7127.
And a HUGE thank-you to all of the Good Samaritans and Deep River residents who helped us today. ❤️
A special thank-you to our Union Street residents, who were absolutely phenomenal in helping us keep track of Harry, one stellar family secured him in their backyard, and to the wonderful resident on Lafayette Avenue who helped us finally catch Bess in the vicinity of the Taco’s Farm Stand.
It truly takes a community sometimes—and today, Deep River showed up.
For now, Harry & Bess Houdini are safe, fed, comfortable…and serenading us from their kennels. 🐾🎶
