Growing Ester's Biodiversity: JTEL's seed library Growing Ester's Biodiversity is the John Trigg Ester Library's seed library program, located at the Clausen Cabin, 3629 Main Street, Ester, Alaska.

Seed libraries help preserve and strengthen local biodiversity; encourage gardening and local food production; support the local economy; promote health; and educate the public about seed saving, biodiversity, gardening, botany, cultural traditions concerning foods and plants, food preparation and preservation, and more. We will be stating small, with a book group, and launching the seed program i

n spring 2012. We are currently seeking volunteers and partners to help get the program started. For more information, please see the website.

Final, Final Garlic Sale -- The ground is not frozen solid quite yet. For those of you who still want to plant garlic this year, this is the last call!

Growing Ester's Biodiversity final fall garlic sale is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 28 from 4-7 p.m. at the John Trigg Library - Clausen Cabin.

The sale helps support the Growing Ester's Biodiversity program and UAF trials of different varieties of garlic in Interior Alaska. New and locally grown varieties are available.
