Rescue is only step one. Where do they go to heal? 🏡

With the announcement of Operation Statewide Shield [00:15], 163 children were recovered across Florida, including 12 right here in Fort Myers [00:06]. While this historic operation marks a critical victory for law enforcement, it highlights an urgent, ongoing crisis: the severe shortage of certified, trauma-informed safe homes across our state.

Rescue stops the immediate danger, but rehabilitation and long-term healing require safe, qualified spaces where survivors can rebuild their lives.

Opening a safe home isn't just about having space—it requires streamlined certification, regulatory compliance, operational safety, and specialized trauma care protocols.
That’s where we come in.

At Wings of Shelter, we provide the proven blueprint training and certification guidance you need to turn compassion into action. We are the “how-to”—equipping community leaders, advocates, and organizations with the exact framework to open and operate fully qualified safe homes throughout Florida.

At WINGS of Shelter, your support does more than fund a program. It helps build the foundation for safer, trauma-informed restorative care for survivors of trafficking and abuse.

There are three meaningful ways to invest in this mission:

Financial Partner: Help fund the development of training modules and scholarship opportunities that prepare leaders to open and sustain new safe havens.

Community Builder: Support step-by-step training and guidance for communities, churches, and organizations working to create safe homes and strengthen the restoration process.

Professional Advocate: Are you a mental health professional, legal expert, pastoral leader, or provider of spiritual support services? Your professional expertise can help our network grow and equip more caregivers to serve survivors well.

Whether you give financially, help build capacity in your community, or offer your professional skills, you are helping create a stronger standard of care.

I am looking to recruit licensed social workers, case managers, and supervisors of anti-human trafficking agencies to participate in my study. Taking part in this research includes completed a screening questionnaire and completing an online interview by Zoom. Participation is entirely voluntary.

The inclusion Criteria for Social Workers is: 1. Must be a licensed social worker (LBSW, LMSW, LICSW, LCSW); 2. Must have prior or current experience and knowledge about human trafficking among homeless youth; and 3. Must have a basic understanding of human trafficking and homeless youth.

The inclusion Criteria for Case Managers is: 1. Must have prior or current work experience as a case manager; and 2. Must have prior or current experience and knowledge about human trafficking among homeless youth.

As WINGS continues to grow its training and mentorship model, we are also developing a future vision for wraparound support that could help safe haven leaders avoid isolation and burnout.

In the future, this support network may include:

🔹Trained volunteers.
🔹Professional advocates.
🔹Mental health professionals.
🔹Legal and compliance experts.
🔹Pastoral and faith-based leaders.
🔹Community partners who understand survivor-centered care.

While this initiative is still in development, our long-term vision is to help create connected, well-supported care environments where leaders have access to guidance, resources, and community.

WINGS is committed to building more than programs. We are helping build sustainable networks of restoration and support.

At WINGS, we believe thoughtful preparation matters. As we continue developing our Safe Haven Launch Training Program, we are working with early participants and partners to test and strengthen the model through real-world feedback and collaboration.

This beta-site approach allows us to refine training materials, improve practical guidance, and ensure future leaders receive resources that are clear, effective, and sustainable.

Our goal is not to move quickly. It is to build a model that truly supports long-term restoration and survivor-centered care.

Every step forward helps strengthen the foundation for future safe haven leaders and the communities they will serve.
