The Estero Historical Society is delighted to recognize the talented students of Three Oaks Elementary who participated in this year's Scholarship Essay Contest.

🏡 Visit the Estero Historical Society cottage & schoolhouse—authentic historic buildings preserved and relocated so everyone can experience them.

📚 Read about it! Did you know there are several books on Estero’s history? Stop by the gift shop (open Saturdays, 10 AM – 2 PM) to pick one up—thanks to our amazing volunteers!

🎤 Attend events like our Speaker Series and cozy Conversations at the Cottage to learn even more.

Mammoths, mastodons, giant ground sloths, and saber-toothed cats lived in Florida, including what is now Estero, during the Pleistocene epoch, which was approximately 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago.

🏆 Nominations are now open for the Greater Estero Chamber of Commerce Awards — including Nonprofit of the Year!

If the Estero Historical Society has inspired you, taught you something new, or helped preserve the stories that make our community special, we would be honored to have your nomination. ❤️

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Estero Historical Society relies on volunteers, memberships, and donations to continue preserving and sharing the rich history of the greater Estero area. From educational programs to major preservation efforts like the relocation and restoration of the historic Alvarez/Smith Home, every project is made possible through community support.

You can nominate the Estero Historical Society — or another nonprofit making a difference — through the Chamber’s webpage (link in comments). The deadline is May 13!
