National Parks are storehouses of Nature’s rarest treasures… Lands easily accessible to the rich and humble alike. (Horace Albright)
A Park Superintendent, Darla Sidles, has begun a federal process, behind closed doors, that will result in permanent restrictions on how the American public can access public lands.
These restrictions were implemented last year in Rocky Mountain National Park, and they are intending more. The impacts these restrictions have already had are very negative especially to the humble citizen who spends their savings on a vacation that includes a picnic or a stroll on public lands.
Requesting their reasonings and decision making process under the FOIA has brought no response as of yet.
We object to these restrictions for MANY reasons.
The Park is hosting a virtual presentation to explain their public reasons for implementing these restrictions at 2pm today. Here is a link if you'd like to join and see what they're saying they're up to. https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2324908955266371342 You need to register first to get access to the link to the presentation.
I would love to hear your thoughts and reactions to the presentation if you choose to watch it!
