Our first Town Board meeting of August is tomorrow, Tuesday. The study session starts at 4p and will cover:
- Dark Sky ordinance, presented by Visit Estes Park
- Process for adoption of FEMA floodplain maps
Break for dinner at 5:15
- Policy 102 board liaison review
- Policy 102 focus groups (first draft for board consideration/input)
- Self-monitoring of the board (semi-annual review)
- Future agenda items and board comments

The regular meeting starts at 7p:
- Five consent agenda items
- Continuation of Fall River Village PUD to the August 25, 2026 meeting
- Resolution 80-26, which is a contract with Infusion Architects, LLC for design services and construction management assistance for the Estes Park Public Safety Facility (aka the new police department)
- Executive session for receiving legal advice related to two separate items: discussion of expression of interest in potential lease of Town-owned property at Elm and Moraine, and use of Lot 4 Stanley Historic District

Very thankful to spend some time with Congressman Neguse and members of our community on Monday. It is so valuable to hear how the issues we face locally (and the work we're doing at a municipal level) tie in with the efforts from our federal representation.

Good afternoon! Coming in a little early with this week's video since we have some bigger ticket items on the July 28 Town Board meeting agendas.

Tuesday's study session begins at 4:30 and has two major topics:
- 50% draft review of the Development Code update (the draft is included in the 372 page packet, and/or you can jump to page 309 if you'd like to view the presentation slides for a higher level overview)
- Public safety facility financing (staff will be proposing options for funding the new police department)

The regular meeting starts at 7 and the agenda includes:
- Recognition of the Estes Park School Environmental Resilience Team
- Proclamation for Estes Park Recycles Day
- Proclamation for Estes Arts Month
- Seven consent agenda items
- BASE funding report from Salud
- Three Planning Commission items, all related to Fall River Village (PUD, preliminary plat, final plat)
- Supplemental budget appropriations #2 to the 2026 budget
- MOU with EVRPD regarding Stanley Park concrete work and improvements
- Rescheduling the June 22, 2027 Town Board meeting to June 29, 2027 to due the CML annual conference

Tomorrow's Visit Estes Park board meeting will feature a presentation by Jody Shadduck-McNally, Larimer County Commissioner D3 about Larimer County's budget process and financial future. To maximize the opportunity for community engagement, VEP staff have partnered with the Chamber to invite their members to join, and of course, all board meetings are always open to the public! To accommodate the larger group, this meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn.

Good morning! Here is a summary of tonight's agenda items for the Town Board meetings.

Study session begins at 4:15:
- Water rate study (review initial draft)
- Housing definitions and density bonuses in the Development Code
- Draft code amendment for neighborhood meetings

We'll break at 6:45 and come back at 7 for the regular meeting:
- Six consent agenda items
- BASE Funding report from Via Mobility Services
- Two action items, including Policies 404 (Public Art) and 405 (Public & Civic Service Recognition) as well as Policy 671 (Outside Entity Funding - like BASE & Community Initiative Funding)
- Two report & discussion items, including presentation of the final Childcare Facility Master Plan and a request from the Stanley for use of Lot 4 for customer parking

In 2022, Estes Valley voters approved Ballot Initiative 6E, increasing the local lodging tax and dedicating a portion of the revenue to workforce housing and childcare initiatives. Each year, the Town, in partnership with the Estes Park Housing Authority and community partners, develops an Annual Funding Plan to guide the use of these funds.

Your feedback in the linked survey (below) will help identify community priorities, inform funding decisions, and shape the strategic objectives for 2027.

Howdy! Here is tonight's agenda roundup for the Town Board.

The study session begins at 4:30:
- Town Board photographs (individual and group)
- Business Support strategic objective
- Rezoning criteria (we have discussed this before but are giving it a little more time)
- Future study session agenda items

We'll break at 6:45 and come back at 7 for the regular meeting:
- Five consent agenda items
- Two liquor license items: New Hotel & Restaurant licenses for Crags Lodge (300 Riverside) and Mountain Berry Bakery (1701 N Lake Street)
- One Planning Commission item: Rezoning of 440 Valley Road from RM to A-1 (this has come before the board before but did not meet the requirements from Ordinance 11-25/Ballot 300 so was sent back)
- Six action items, but really only five...
- Contract renewal with Cervi Championship Rodeo for Rooftop Rodeo stock contracting
- Contract with Infusion Architects for design services related to the new public safety/PD facility - this has been bumped to a future meeting
- Adoption of the Water Master Plan
- Adoption of the Wildfire Resiliency Code (already adopted by EVFPD in March)
- Cooperative agreement with EVFPD for administration of the Wildfire Resilience Code
- Interview Committee for the recent Housing Authority board vacancies (please apply! estespark.colorado.gov/volunteering)
- Finally, two report and discussion items: BEAD risk report (related to fiber buildout) and the Childcare Facility Master Plan

I'm spending the day up at Taharaa/Twin Owls in the Visit Estes Park Board Retreat, during which we're planning for long-term strategy and identifying destination stewardship goals (as well as how we'll get there!). It's a great way to connect the board, staff, and community and committee members to align our priorities for the coming years.
