This Mountain Life

This Mountain Life Settle into This Mountain Life and your best excursion ever with an extraordinary mountain town cabin by a snow-fed winding river. Good times are all around.

Located in the heart of historic Estes Park Colorado USA and a sublime rocky mountain wonderland. This Mountain Life is adventure filled redemption, exploration and reflection deep in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and the Estes Park Region. The full version is told through the eyes of our 3 connected "Old Estes" traveler cabins, their caretakers and guests. All are vacation rentals and natural

retreats in storybook settings. This Mountain Life sits among the scenic meadows, groves and winding streams deeply set in high rocky mountains and forested steeps. The cabins embody the Region's essence, gentleness and romantic loveliness. This Mountain Life is a sublime garden all arranged with infinite care. Living the dream, Cheryl and Rick took on the task of restoring 3 adjoining “Old Estes” mountain traveler cabins at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabins are quintessential Estes Park. This Page is for sharing the experience and telling their story. Redemption Cabin--Exploration Cabin--Reflection Cabin

Situated in the midst of endless adventure, This Mountain Life was born out of a picture perfect one-of-a-kind prime natural setting. It remains so today with its massive granite boulders, rocky perches, towering trees, dappled sunlight, sheltered sanctuary, rushing emerald waters as clear and cold as their glacial lakes, and full spectrum of Rocky Mountain wildlife. The cabins are located at the southern tip of the historic Estes Park Downtown. They have been landmarks since before RMNP and the Town were founded. They back up to the rocky crags and cliffs of Little Prospect Mountain. They front the last big bend of the Big Thompson River just before it meets Fall River downstream. Both “rivers” are sparkling snow-fed streams that have their beginnings high up on the Continental Peaks. The rivers flow to the sound of white water all year round. Energetic Rainbow trout school in sandy holes up the bend and below. This Mountain Life is walkable in every direction. Getting to the Downtown Commercial District and the best venues and restaurants Estes Park has to offer is a downstream stroll along a cabin filled lane. Entrance into Rocky Mountain National Park, its wilderness, alpine lakes, trails and spectacular scenery is just a few miles west upstream. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the full essence of 'Colorful Colorado' from one simple, easy to get to, extraordinarily special place. Great mountain vistas also surround. Backyard or back country, wildlife is unsurpassed --- colorful trout, song birds, chipmunks, rabbits, raptors, bobcat, turkey, deer, elk, black bear & rare moose roam about.

The cabin logs and planks were harvested, hauled to site, cut, stacked, spiked & chinked into floors and walls by pioneers in the likes of John Cleave- the Park’s first permanent merchant, Enos Mills- the naturalist credited as the Father of Rocky Mountain National Park, and F.O. Stanley- the industrialist, co-inventor of the Stanley Steamer & visionary who had a big hand in shaping Estes Park as it is today. Despite all the change of the past 100 years, This Mountain Life, shroud in nature's glory & simple humility, is still one of the most wild and beautiful places between sea & shining sea. Each cabin has treasures, area navigational and topographical maps, Western Vision and local history books, Our Top Local Picks, first class kitchen & bath, special lighting, amenities & finishes throughout. Sometimes we make our Cabins available to family, friends, and out of town guests. We welcome all travelers who will care for TML property with respect.
