We want to provide our community with an update on the status of the Estherville Pool and address some of the questions and speculation we've seen circulating online.
First, the pool is professionally winterized each year by a qualified maintenance company to ensure it is properly prepared for the colder months.
Caulking work needed to be completed and fully cured before the pool could be filled. This work is dependent on specific weather conditions and temperatures. Because of these requirements, the current issue was only discovered recently as we began preparing the pool for the summer season.
Since identifying the problem, the City has hired professionals to thoroughly investigate the issue and make the necessary repairs as quickly as possible. Our goal is to ensure any concerns are fully addressed before the pool opens so residents can enjoy a safe and reliable facility throughout the summer. Repair work will begin as soon as possible, and additional investigation is underway to determine the full scope of the issue.
At this time, we are unable to provide an exact opening date. Once repairs have been scheduled and timelines are confirmed, we will be able to provide a more accurate estimate. We currently anticipate opening approximately a couple of weeks later than originally planned.
We understand how important the pool is to our residents and families, and we share your disappointment in this delay. Our priority is ensuring the facility is safe, fully operational, and ready for everyone to enjoy throughout the summer.
