Effective immediately, the Estherwood Police Department will be disabling comments on our Facebook posts.

Apparently, we cannot have nice things.

Our comment section has turned into a courtroom, a political debate stage, and a mud-slinging contest — none of which are services provided by this department.

This page exists to share public safety information and department updates. It is not the place for blaming, arguing, campaigning, or dragging people through the dirt from behind a keyboard.

If you have concerns about village government, council meetings are held monthly. They have a podium. They allow public comment. That’s where those conversations belong — not here.

We will continue doing what we’re sworn to do: serve and protect this community. The Facebook referee position has officially been eliminated.

🚤 STOLEN BOAT 🚤

We’re asking for the public’s help locating a stolen aluminum flat-bottom boat that was taken from private property near the post office on the canal bank.

For the record: this was not borrowed, loaned, or “misunderstood.” Someone was somewhere they absolutely shouldn’t have been—and now we’re trying to find the boat.

If you’ve seen this boat, know where it’s headed, or recognize someone who suddenly thinks they’re a boat owner without the paperwork, we’d like to talk.

🚔 HELP US HELP THEM FIND THEIR WAY BACK 🚔

We’re looking to identify the individual pictured who decided Dollar General in Estherwood was running a “five-finger discount” special.

Our mystery shopper was last seen around 8:40pm driving what appears to be a mid-2000s GMC/Chevrolet 1500 pickup, possibly tan or gold in color. If this vehicle looks familiar—or if you recognize the individual who apparently skipped the checkout line—we’d love to hear from you.

📞 Tips can be called in or sent via message.
🤫 Anonymous tips are welcome.
💵 And yes, stealing is still illegal… even at Dollar General.

Please send us the info so we can do the paperwork they clearly didn’t want to deal with.

🙏 As always, a big thank you to our community. Y’all never miss a beat when it comes to helping us identify suspects and keep Estherwood businesses taken care of. Your cooperation and support don’t go unnoticed—and you always come through when we ask.

BATON ROUGE, La.
