We post photos of our training, but here are some of our technical rescue capabilities!
🚨 ETNA VFD — TECHNICAL RESCUE CAPABILITIES 🚨
When an emergency goes beyond the capabilities of a standard response, Etna Volunteer Fire Department is prepared to answer the call.
Our members train and operate in a variety of specialized rescue disciplines, including:
🪢 Rope Rescue
🚧 Confined Space Rescue
⛏️ Trench Rescue
🏚️ Structural Collapse Rescue
🚗 Vehicle Rescue
🚣 Water Rescue
These incidents require specialized equipment, extensive training, teamwork, and disciplined operations. Our members continually train to maintain the skills necessary to operate safely in some of the most challenging rescue environments.
🤝 MUTUAL-AID TECHNICAL RESCUE
Technical rescue incidents often require more personnel, equipment, and specialized resources than a single department can provide. Etna VFD works closely with neighboring fire departments and technical rescue partners through mutual aid, allowing agencies to bring additional specialized personnel, equipment, and expertise to the scene when needed. It is always a pleasure working with Southern Allegheny Valley Emergency Services, Cherry City Volunteer Fire Company, Ross West View EMSA and many others for technical rescue!
By working together, we can build a stronger regional technical rescue response and provide our communities with the resources necessary to handle complex and high-risk emergencies..

Proudly serving our community.
